Dear wagglebee,

“With very few exceptions, if someone under the age of 50 says that they have never smoked pot, my initial inclination is that they are probably lying.”

I'm under 50 (by a couple of years) and have never smoked pot, nor ever used any other illegal drug.

In fact, experimentation with illegal drugs by high school seniors in the United States peaked the year that I graduated high school - 1978. However, even in that year, only about half of high school seniors had ever used illegal drugs. It has never been quite as widespread as many in the media portray.

The same person who is doing it while she is governor, HER HUSBAND!

. Is he breastfeeding the baby too ?

Just wondering because down's syndrome babies can be really hard to nurse, even while the benefits of breastfeeding them can be critical, given their health difficulties.

It looks like Sarah Palin won’t need to have her husband raise her kids while she is VP as it turns out she’s still in Alaska, and not in Dayton OH, so you’ve been snookered.

Haha...you'll get to eat those words in a couple of hours. The source for Palin being in Alaska is her spokesperson, who is probably repeating what she's been told to say. Or she actually believes Palin is indeed in Alaska. Either way, I think you and ABC are the ones who have been "snookered." But we'll see soon enough.

Yeah, you're right.

I was a knuckle-head with that comment.

In fact, the more I think about Palin, and the more I read up on her, she makes perfect sense.

I never knew much about her, and she seems a solid conservative.

I had never took the time to read about her because I was almost sure Obama would pick Hillary for VP, and if that had happened, I could not believe McCain would pull a "me too" selection of a woman for VP.

Bottom line: I think Palin WILL attract more Democrat women than Romney, even though I don't care for identity politics (selecting a woman just to attract women votes).

Then again, McCain might just surprise everyone and pick someone else.

And McCain cannot even claim a successful Navy career...near the bottom of his class, poor pilot, had to ride his father’s coattails....

I would take a man with a mediocre military record over one with a strong career in most other areas.

That makes three of us. The presidential election has turned into one giant panderingfest. Our enemies are dancing in the streets, incredulous at our self-destruction.

Not sure that analysis will fly with any significant percentage of Republicans, Democrats, independents, or even the lamestream media.

Five and a half years in the Hanoi Hilton trumps all.

MSNBC right off the bat calling the move “stupid...doesn’t make sense...catastrophe for the GOP...the experience argument taken off the table for Obama...and my favorite..Tom Ridge is the likely choice.”

You may be right, they are now saying on TV that her staff doesn’t really know where she is right now. Also, the Chicago Tribune is now saying it is indeed Palin.

Man, it’s amazing how sexist some people are here. It seems as if a woman isn’t at home, paying attention to her children 24/7 (while she’s not cooking or cleaning... I guess those things are allowed) she’s something less of a woman.

And babies aren’t going to die if they’re not breast fed. It’s this thing called “formula,” and men have even been known to master the technique of feeding it to infants. Imagine that!

I wonder if Palin would peel off some dhimmirat men, at least the heterosexual ones.

Even if McCain got every last one of the Heterosexual Dem man, the bump would be statistically insignificant...

I tried to breast feed once. It wasn’t pretty. From that point on, I got up in the middle of the night and handled everything else.

God Bless Women!

Perhaps it’s been overstated, all I know is that just about everyone I know in my age bracket smoked pot at some point (my wife and brother never did, but I had their share and then some) and these people have generally gone on to be respectable members of society.

I simply don’t think it’s that big a deal if someone experimented with pot 20 or so years ago.
