As a single father (custodial parent)of a fine young teenager, I take your pathetic bitching as a personal insult. It is a challenge to be a custodial parent and also the sole means of support, but it is the most important job there is.
Why don't you go back into your corner and suck your thumb alone.
Maybe, maybe not. The people at RedState think they’re just trying to play along.
If it’s not Palin after all this...worse yet, if it’s someone like Lieberman after all this...
Where in the world have you been? Don’t you know that a woman’s place is in the home? /sarcasm
“She has executive experience while he has none.”
Yes. But it's two years. And it's of one of the least-populous states in the Union.
Like I said, the pick is defensible. I think that the experience issue can be rebutted, and of course, the Snob-ama ticket is quite vulnerable to attack on this point.
But it IS an issue, and I think that the Dems will try to make hay of it. And it will stick with some unknown percentage of the public.
However, it's still a good choice, even a very good one, if true (Please God, let it be true!). Mrs. Palin has a life story and a set of political convictions and principles (not “values and beliefs” but CONVICTIONS AND PRINCIPLES) that will warm the cockles of the hearts of most conservatives, fire up a significant percentage of the base (including myself), and will appeal to many moderates, and not an insignificant number of Hillarycrats.
She appeals on so many different levels, so multi-dimensionally, that she will show Snob-ama to be the cardboard cut-out that he really is.
Even many of her CONSERVATIVES convictions and principles will appeal to many less-radical feminists (and many of the Hillarycrats). Her pro-life stance will be softened in their mind because she put her money - and her LIFE - where her mouth is - accepting in the world her “perfect” Down Syndrome child. Most feminists’ chests will swell with pride at the picture of a pistol-packing, rifle/shotgun-toting, hunting working mom with five kids who once worked as a commercial fisherman.
Moderates and independents will be duly impressed by her actions on the oil and gas board, where she resigned for ethical concerns (always a big plus with the goo-goo government “moderate” crowd).
And of course, few conservatives will object to her generally low-tax, oil-drilling, Second Amendment, pro-life politics.
Overall, a very good pick.
But because of her relative lack of experience, the possible perception that she's slighting her children (especially the littlest one) by becoming Vice President, the lingering Dem-manufactured ethics problem, an imperfect nomination, if it comes to pass.
However, we shouldn't let the unattainable perfect be the enemy of the attainable good.

If you are uninformed, you have no one to blame but yourself.
I predicted it would be Palin three weeks ago, I really hope this is correct.
Yes, it will hurt McCain as far as the conventional ‘experience’ argument goes. I think the tactic of hammering Obama’s experience isn’t what defeats him. It’s going after hid worldview and judgement. Palin may be young and unfamiliar to many voters, but a look at her resume, her positions, and her values makes her a very appealing choice. Plus, she’s the only governor that would be on either ticket and she may pull those needed votes from the undecided Hillary fans.
I tink she helps this ticket more than Romney or Pawlenty. And if Biden is seen as aggressive and condescending towards her in debates it may backfire on the Dems. I think this has been the smartest option all along and I will be very impressed with McCain if he indeed selects Palin.
I must say, this is the first time, in a very long time, I've been proud to be a Republican. HOW SMART WAS THIS? Forget she's a conservative, which is great, but he just stole ANY thunder Obama had today. I can't believe how savvy his advisors are. YAY!
It’s not often you and I get to share a happy moment together...it’s about to happen! YAY!!!
In one sense I agree with you about most people smoking pot when they were young. I’m 46 and can honestly say I’ve never smoked it. Friends in high school did and I was with them when they were smoking, but I never had any desire. Same goes for my wife and many others I know.
That said, having smoked pot as a kid is not a disqualifier for anything.
I think he was on the board of directors of the Weathermen.
“...more impressive than 16 months as a Senator...”
As far as Obama is concerned, most of that time has been spent on the campaign trail. How is that valid experience to be president? I think not.
Obama is one of those celebrities who’s famous for being famous. And that’s the extent of it.
Don't hold your breath, I'm sitting in the Green Room with John as I type.............
Same here, neighbor- for whatever it's worth...

You’re such a drama queen. Sarah Palin is a married woman, there is a husband and a wife. She has 5 kids. You are a single person and thus can’t qualify as a househusband can you, especially if you work too. So get off your high horse and stop comparing apples to oranges. It looks like Sarah Palin won’t need to have her husband raise her kids while she is VP as it turns out she’s still in Alaska, and not in Dayton OH, so you’ve been snookered. On to the next possibility. Lieberman? Ridge? Whitman? Cantor? Not Palin it appears, unless she is capable of being in two places at one time.
I don’t buy it, even if ABC does. Her spokesperson is either saying what the McCain campaign is telling her to say, or she doesn’t know that Palin is in Ohio.
According to her spokesperson. Who knows, the spokesperson might even believe it...
Well, I would much rather be considered a “drama queen” than a card-carrying jerk like you portray yourself on this forum.
She has two years executive experience more than McCain!
And McCain cannot even claim a successful Navy career...near the bottom of his class, poor pilot, had to ride his father’s coattails....
OMG! Can you just imagine the anger at Obama for dissing Hillary if McCain picks a woman? And Cankles will be so mad! LOL
