Russia tests missile that can beat shield

MOSCOW: Russia on Thursday launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) that beats anti-ballistic missile (ABM) systems in hitting high-security facilities, media reports said.

Russia's president Vladimir Putin said that the recent tests are a direct response to harsh, unreasonable actions by Nato countries.

"There is no need to fear Russia's actions, they are not aggressive... They are aimed at maintaining balance in the world order, and are extremely important for maintaining peace and security globally," Putin said.

The Topol (RS-12M) ICBM, launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, is equipped with features designed to defeat ABM systems. It flew 6,000km and successfully hit a target on the Kura testing ground, in Kamchatka in Russia's Far East, the Interfax news agency said.

"The experimental combat part of the missile has hit the target on the testing ground on the Kamchatka peninsula with high precision, demonstrating an ability to effectively hit high-security facilities," Alexander Vovk, the head of the RVSN information service, said.

"Experience shows the most economical and quickly achievable countermeasures against the development of a missile-defence system are so-called asymmetrical measures," he said.

Beats ABM? Riiight, and how would you know?

God bless you Ronald Reagan for making "Star Wars" missile defense our reality rather than just something in your imagination like your opponents seemed to belive, then and even now.

NO need to worry...

The “Messiah” will not need an ABM setup to defeat any ICBM launch.

He will just “point” at the incoming R.V.’s and they will just “vanish” harmlessly.

Don't miss the tagline.

Actually—this has been discussed for awhile now.

SUPPOSEDLY—the new ICBM will contain EMP shielding that will protect the RV and bus sections from a “standoff” nuclear blast that is farther than 500 feet. (In the “SINGLE” RV configuration, at least. )The RV is aid to be a MARV type (Maneuvarable re-entry vehicle) that can perform evasive moves to “confuse” the tracking radars of the interceptors. and—it has a LOT of “Normal” decoy measures-chaff, decoy balloons, etc.)

Keep in mind-the Russians put a LOT of their money and technology into their military—while we tend to spend it for health care for illegals, gay pride parades, “Global warming” studies, etc. They do NOT Waste their resources on such things!!

It may work in the terminal phase, but that's why we also have measures for boost and mid course phases.

I’m surprised it wasn’t on May 1.

Putin pines for the Cold War like nobody’s business.

This really doesn’t matter. A T A L L !

Our ABM system is intended for rogue nations and a single launch to at most a handful of launches essentially.

It is useless against a large Russian strike, regardless of whether stealthy Russian missiles are used. AND it was never intended as a deterrent in this manner.

The deterrent system for Russia is massive nuclear retaliation. AKA MAD.

We still got that bet covered. Big time. Plenty of missiles, plenty of warheads.

So Russia’s chest-beating over this is an internal consumption and nearby nation deal. We still hold all the aces and the hole card.

The thing not to miss, is good old Geroge.

I did the same thing the other day. Left a typo in my tagline.

Took an entire day before I changed it.

: )

wow. I can’t believe Putin is really this stupid.

I KNOW he knows our missile defense sites can’t protect against Russian missile strikes. Like we told them over and over again, it’s for the idiots in Iran and Korea.

But here he goes and shows-off his stuff.

Nice demonstration! With the whole world watching.

Once the RV is deployed, if it maneuvers it needs to keep track of how much it moved and must be able to compensate for that maveuver later. Maneuvering after deployment carries a big penalty in accuracy.

The EMP shielding is only useful until RV separation from the bus which usually happens fairly early in the flight. Thereafter, the RV is unprotected, except for the chaff and decoys.

You have to marvel at the sheer lack of professionalism. SCO is made up of China, Russia, and Central Asian states.

Our ABM system is not designed to stop a Russian attack. It is designed for accidental or rogue nation launches. The Russians need no stealth to overcome our ABM system.

The Russians know this already.

Good, now they can stop bitching about Poland and Ukraine. That is, if they actually know what we can stop and aren't lying sacks of schit. The Commie dream is that they are not governed by the laws of human interaction that define free markets. They are going to get a lesson in shrewd reality...lie, nobody believes you, and they will stop interacting with you. Russia lies.
