Senator John McCain has decided on his running mate, two Republican strategists in contact with McCain's campaign said Wednesday. He is expected to reveal his choice at a rally at a basketball arena in Dayton, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Friday.
McCain's decision is known only to his small inner circle of advisers, no more than three or four people, who have refused all public discussion on the matter. Republicans close to the campaign said that the top contenders remained the same three men who have been the source of speculation for weeks: former Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Governor Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and, possibly, Senator Joseph Lieberman, independent of Connecticut.

She's managed to deal with 200 million customers, 13,200 employees, multiple country's governments, thousands of investors and the sharks on Wall Street. Sounds like she's politically experienced to me.
I'd still be shocked if McCain picked her. It's almost too logical.
Just my opinion - seriously - to me it simply doesn’t matter!
Kay Bailey Hutchison
My prediction is that he will select some middle aged rich white guy. The vested country club branch of the Republican party will prevail this year.
Meg Whitman is pro-choice. She’s out, if the RNC and McCain are to be believed.
which would be Mitt.
“Just my opinion - seriously - to me it simply doesnât matter!”
It won’t influence my vote — I am voting McCain no matter what, we must defeat Obama.
But it does matter from the perspective of whether or not it helps to attract other voters to McCain and helps him win the election.
Remember, recent elections were very close, a few voters can make a difference in who becomes president.
My prediction remains definite: MITT ROMNEY.
Mark Sanford is +1 win.
Sarah Palin is 2nd best choice.
Any pro-abort and I am 3rd party.
I agree. Romney.
Kay is ok, but it really won’t make a difference to me who Mr. McCain picks. My choice for this election has already been made.
I like Palin and Cantor.
I’m guessing Palin.
Pawlenty
If the Veep is Romney, it may cause me to reconsider my support for McCain. I could live with Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Tim Palwenty, and Eric Cantor. I think Cantor would be the best option.
I find solace in a very distant relative in our family tree when he stated -
"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." John Quincy Adams

I have this horrible feeling that it’s going to be Joe Lieberman. McCain is hard-headed enough to do it in the face of all advice to the contrary.
I've heard that, too, but what's the source? (Not that I expect her to be the choice -- for other reasons as stated above.)
US News supposedly says Romney is out. So if Whitman is pro-choice, if Lieberman won't campaign on the Sabbath, if Pawlenty would be filleted by Biden, and if KBH and McCain don't like each other, it looks like nobody is left.
