Didn’t a reporter get arrested on the convention floor in ‘68?

What exactly are the charges, if they are taking pictures in a public place? The paparazzi (sp?) take pictures in public.

From the story online;
"Eslocker and his ABC News colleagues are spending the week investigating the role of corporate lobbyists and wealthy donors at the convention for a series of Money Trail reports on ABC World News with Charles Gibson."
I'm just sayin'......

The charge was “trespassing”. The hotel says it owns the sidewalk.

Just big-city police acting like what they really are: the Democratic Party’s private militia.

Eslocker and his ABC News colleagues are spending the week investigating the role of corporate lobbyists and wealthy donors at the convention for a series of Money Trail reports on ABC World News with Charles Gibson. It's ABC. They will finish their investigation and conclude that no democrat anywhere even knows what a corporate lobbyist or wealthy donor is. In fact, all money ever given to democrats comes from little people.
Their investigative trail will then lead them to . . .ta dah, the Republicans.

from the link:
A police official later told lawyers for ABC News that Eslocker is being charged with trespass, interference, and failure to follow a lawful order. He also said the arrest followed a signed complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel.
Eslocker was put in handcuffs and loaded in the back of a police van which headed for a nearby police station

I’m sure this will be quickly followed up by a call from ABC’s lawyer . . . . . apologizing for the incident.

On the Money Trail at the DNC
A stream of luxury corporate jets arrived in Denver over the
weekend, bringing corporate executives, lobbyists and
their friends to the Democratic National Convention.
Among those on board was Sen. John Kerry, whose office said
he would reimburse his corporate host for the cost of the
flight as a campaign expense.

I think ABC is the least biased out of the three networks.
That’s not saying much considering the other two are NBC and CBS.
I think NBC is the most biased with CBS running a close second.
ABC is the network that brought us John Stossel after all.
And ABC Radio is affiliated with Rush, Hannity and many others.

How can they legally arrest someone for trespassing if they’re on a public sidewalk? And how can the hotel own that public sidewalk? Something about this story doesn’t add up. I smell an unlawful arrest lawsuit brewing.
