It is great Rush is taking up this issue. Pelosi should be removed as speaker.
Not only is Rush taking it up - a couple of Archbishops and priests have absolutely slammed that moron Pelosi. One went so far as to say this is absolutely stupid and no Catholic could possibly believe what she said.
“Pelosi should be removed as speaker”
I’ve been predicting for weeks that she’s history come next session of congress.
People can say what they will about Rush, but he’s about as publicly fully pro-life as you can get.
Look at his success in his field too. Coincidence?
Maybe they will finally get the guts to actually confront these politicians who claim to be ‘ardent Catholics’ yet they espouse ‘reproductive rights’ (ie abortion!) and either really deny them communion services, or EXCOMMUNICATE them when they refuse to change their ways, ie John Kerry!!!
Not blasting the church, but they (priests, bishops, whatever) should practice what they preach instead of giving these baby-killing-is-okay politicians mere slaps on the wrists for promoting abortions.
You are going to crack, Nancy - very soon.
All together now - Obama was right - McCain was wrong.
Your speech sucked - Nancy - sounded like a kindergarten teacher.
You are going to crack soon, Nancy.
“The “doctors” at the Catholic Church? You mean the pope goes and consults the doctors to find out when life begins? Really? The doctors have more to say than God-d?”
My only critique regarding Rush’s statement - and it is understandable coming from a non-catholic.
Someone needs to let Rush know what “Doctor of the Church” means.
What she said is really more sinister than what Rush is thinking here regarding the “doctor” statement.
she is attempting to pervert and twist statements made by St. Augustine (one of the Doctors - ex: Aquinas - Teresa De Avila - John of the Cross - The Little Flower...etc..)
into something he wasn’t trying to say at all.
I think she's a drug addict.
Her ability to speak has obviously already been removed.
Hey, I have friends who are Kindergarten teachers. Please do not insult them.
While Nancy is using the title correctly, she of course is completely perverting the theology of these Doctors. St. Augustine himself completely disagrees with her, although she is trying to claim his support.
I must add that I have always appreciated Rush's efforts at defending Catholics. He is not one of us, and it isn't his job to do so, but he has often in the past stepped up and defended Catholicsm and Catholics, usually very effectively, when he could have avoided the issue. He does seem to have a genuine respect for us.
Pelosi isn’t arrogant, she’s incompetent.
While that would be great, I don't see it happening, unless by some miracle the GOP takes back the House.
She also needs a lot more practice at being a "practicing Catholic" - like maybe a few catechism classes.
anybody see that p.o.s. speech she gave at the dnc - she actually brought a gavel to the podium.
a little insecure there, Nancy?
gotta remind everyone you’re the Speaker, Nancy?
what else do you do with that gavel, Nancy?
Common belief from Aristotle until a few hundred years ago was that the baby was not human or did not receive a soul until the time of "quickening", when the child moved in the mother's womb. This was the belief of St. Augustin. The Church has changed positions on abortion before quickening throughout the centuries but due to advances in medical sciences it is now irrefutably known that the fetus is an individual human from the time of conception.
Ms. Pelosi wishes to muddy the waters with outdated and discounted doctrine. That the child possesses human life from the time of conception has been a known truth in the Catholic Church since well before Ms. Pelosi was born, for her to argue otherwise highlights another truth. That Ms. Pelosi is truly as stupid and shallow as she seems.
Having a female speaker was a good idea. Just seems the wrong female was selected!
Well then, just "drill it."
