Angry Clinton supporters toast McCain, roast Obama

ER, Colorado (CNN) -- The last place Kathy Archuleta could have ever imagined she'd spend the first night of the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, was at a happy hour sponsored by the Republican Party.

But the 54-year-old Democrat joined several other Hillary Clinton supporters, along with volunteers and officials from John McCain's campaign, at a Happy Hour for Hillary.

The event, sponsored by the Republican National Committee and approved by the McCain campaign, was a chance for McCain and Clinton supporters to come together for one cause: their opposition to Barack Obama's candidacy.

"Four years ago, if you said we'd be at a Hillary happy hour at the DNC, I would have called you crazy. But today is a great opportunity for people who ... agree that Sen. Barack Obama doesn't have the experience to be president of the United States," said McCain campaign regional communications director Tom Kise.

As Michelle Obama was delivering her "One Nation" unity speech on the convention floor several blocks away, more than 100 people gathered at the Paramount Café in downtown Denver.

In a side room, both groups of supporters discussed politics, sports and the convention while sipping cocktails and munching on tacos and a cheese spread.

But there was nothing unified for these Clinton supporters who walked across the aisle or, in this case, the cafe Monday night.

Archuleta, who hails from Denver, has been a registered Democrat all her life -- until now.

Wow. Just now, on Fox, they had a commercial of a Hillary Clinton delegate saying she was going to vote for McCain.

If you don’t think that the Hillary supporters are pi$$ed about having Obama shoved down their throat, go to youtube and search on PUMA. There’s a lot of support for her and anger at O out there. It’s smart for McCain to try to widen the cracks in an already fractured party.

Should be fun to watch.

“The sad part is, there isn’t much difference between McCain & Her Shrillness.”

Except abortion, gay marriage, support of the military, less spending and putting Constructionists on the bench. Aside from that, I agree with you.

It’s why she lost. Hussein on the left, and McCain just to her right - so close to her on the right that if you unzipped Hillary’s pants, McCain could relieve himself.

Let’s not get carried away here. McCain was no more electable as a conservative than he was during the primaries. What has come to light is how breathtakingly dangerous a candidate Hussein is. He, literally, is not qualified to be a regional sales manager, an ombudsman, a spokesperson, or any other junior person at a for-profit firm.

No management experience, military experience, and no real track record practicing law. He’s never owned a business, nor has he really worked for a business in any sort of meaningful capacity.

BY DEFAULT, in a world with Putin in it, working within the parameters of the election process, there’s McCain.

And vice versa, just don’t think your some sort of hero by electing a Marxist Stalinist rather than a Patriot cause your not. Your a coward of the highest order.

John McCain has earned the right to any American’s vote. When you spend 5 yrs tortured in an enemy prison for your Country, then you can rip Maverick.

Pray for W and Our Troops
