Pelosi to protesters: "Can we drill your brains?"
House Democratic leaders and protesters waving McCain signs had a war of words Tuesday at a press event outside an old train station. The demonstrators interrupted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with chants of “Drill here! Drill now!”
Pelosi paused and asked the group, “Right here?”
Seeming to enjoy the back and forth, she followed with another question: “Can we drill your brains?”

Well, yes - however oil is fungible or substitutable - (technically, one barrel of oil produced in the ME or Canada or Mexico is roughly equivalent, leaving out for the moment higher grades as such)and divisible, storable. The “light sweet” crude is a benchmark price and the oil out of Venezuela isn’t anything like that - it’s popular for making shingles and asphalt but otherwise difficult to refine into gasoline and other fuels.
Supposedly because of transportation costs, balance of payments and so on, oil companies can more efficiently ship a certain oil in one direction and take delivery of another shipment somewhere else, across the country or wherever. The monies get installed in the accounts, everybody is happy?
But since the US doesn’t produce near enough for our own domestic needs it doesn’t really matter what the tecnicalities are, a whole bunch of oil needs to be imported here.

Pelosi's response is embematic of being used to giving speeches without "sophmoric" citizens interrupting/shouting over them. Of course sophmoric doesn't apply to such a catch phrase as, "Drill Here, Drill Now", since it is indeed a succinct request and the boiled down essense of common sense.
Pelosi shows her true tolerance towards dissent outside of the safe confines of DC where all the escape routes are memorized - that is...none. This woman's supporters and Dems in general constantly give passes to members such as Code Pink to disrupt speeches in the US Senate and House, demonstrators at every major college especially guest speakers and commencements yada yada.
