Hope her flight isn't delayed. My oldest son and his girlfriend are flying back from Europe tomorrow. They won't be arriving in New York until 1 p.m., so I'm hoping this problem will be resolved before then.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Air traffic at more than two dozen major airports across the United States was delayed on Tuesday afternoon due to a communications network problem, according to the Federal Aviation Administration’s website.

The Department of Homeland Security declined to comment, referring calls to the FAA.

Faulkner of FOX said she was speaking to the office of the FFA and to a person she has spoken to many times before and Faulkner said she could hear the “fear” in her voice. Told Faulkner to get back to her in a few minutes and now the lady at the FFA is not answering her phone.

The system is vintage 1970s. They’ve tried to replace parts of it but it is still outdated. I’d wait until all the facts are in.

Yep. 20 years and billions later and no upgrade. The FAA is run by non-pilots and people with business degrees without a clue about business or how to manage an airspace system. More corporate-style BS.

Flight plans are required for IFR, but where weather permits aircraft can switch to VFR and land without those flight plans.

I hate to say it, but CNN is far superior to FOX on this type of story, and it’s being proven right now.

I'm sure that Soledad O'Brien is claiming that the problems were due to McCain's "attack" ads. However, if you can stomach the propaganda, CNN is often quicker and more thorough with stories than Fox.
