“Good evening, Springfield!” Er. “..St. Louis!” er, “I’m mean, I was in St. Louis LAST NIGHT and YOU are a much better crowd! Barack the vote!!!”
Maybe his daughter hasn’t seen much of Daddy because of his 4 years of campaigning for the White House.
Obama always knows where he is ... in his 57 states.
I agree. The real issue here is how the press treats it. If any Republican expects fair treatment from the press, then he or she should stay out of politics.
However, they certainly do not talk alike.
I think the whole exchange was a setup. Uhbamuh makes a supposed gaffe and then his daughter basically corrects him to further endear him to the public. Use the adorable child to make Uhbamuh and his wife seem down to earth.
Right state. Wrong side.
Yes. It’s one thing to have the kids around, I mean they are part of the family and will be seen, but as a parent, I would think you would try to minimize their actual contact with the public. I remember how cruel people were about Chelsea, and altho I dislike the Clintons as much as anyone, she was a little girl, and that’s gotta be difficult for her. But, when they trot them out as props, they are inserting them into the mix.

What do you think about a 10 year old wearing a spaghetti strap, low cut dress? Didn't look much like a little girl to me.
Potatoe was spelled with an “e” on the flash card that Quayle was using.
Even at JFK's funeral - little John-John saluting his father's casket, how much of a setup was that - he was only three years old!
She held his hand until it was time for him to "salute" his fallen daddy. The Kennedy era as "Camelot" was a myth dreamed up by Jackie after her husband was murdered.

The picture of John F. Kennedy Jr. saluting the casket of his father is one of the most poignant images from the weekend that shook the nation and the world. UPI photographer Stan Stearns took the picture outside St. Matthew's Cathedral, after the Kennedy family emerged from the church following the funeral for President John F. Kennedy on Monday, Nov. 25. Kennedy had been assassinated in Dallas three days earlier. Stearns' photo shows the boy in coat and short pants, right hand at his forehead in salute. Stearns, stationed outside the church with about 75 other photographers, had focused a 200mm lens on Mrs. Kennedy, who stood next to John Jr. "All of a sudden she bent down and whispered in his ear," Stearns said. "His hand went up and 'click,' that was the picture." It was the only picture Stearns took outside the church.
Sadly, I’m so used to seeing that that I didn’t pay much attention. I didn’t watch the whole thing, just the highlights on the news.

I don’t remember anything about Kennedy except hearing when he died (I was in first grade). We were in Japan, so I don’t even remember seeing anything on TV about the funeral. I do recall seeing the John John photo of him saluting, and yes, I’m sure he was told to do that, altho I do find the picture very....I don’t know how to express it, it just gets me in the gut every time I see it.
Anyway, yes, they were used for lots of photo ops. I think my point is simply that if you bring your kids into the campaign, don’t cry foul when someone takes a pot shot at them (verbally of course).

And I agree with you about using kids as props, but I remember being offended when Rush compared Amy Carter to a dog. I love Rush, but I just cringed when he said that.
Yes, I hate that stuff. It’s harder to protest when people do it, tho, when the parents are using the kids to make their political points.

That was Chelsea, not Amy Carter.
The Clintons did eventually get a couple of dogs who met unfortunate ends. The prop cat was given away when they moved out of the White House.
Well but dontcha know, he can be in two places at the same time. That’s part of what being the Obamassiah is all about.
