After reading this post I decided to pull up her financial disclosure report and look for any other natural gas producers. On 11/8/07, she purchased between $250,001 and $500,000 of Quest Energy Partners, LP. (see pages 12 and 18). According to its site (http://qelp.publishpath.com), “The Partnership owns more than 2,300 wells and is the largest producer of natural gas in the Cherokee Basin, which is located in southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma and holds a drilling inventory of nearly 2,100 locations.”

Either she is so arrogant to think that nobody would find out that she is profiting by holding up new drilling and refining initiatives or she thinks nobody can touch her.

Has anybody checked Harry “The Body” Reid’s financial disclosure form? I’d say check Obama’s too but he hasn’t done anything but give speeches.

3) Demand that the Broadcaster Freedom Act be brought to the floor for a vote!

As for the Gang of 10.

I had several conversations with these offices yesterday. They NEED to hear from us.

WE WANT THE BOEHNER BILL!

1) The House (Republican and Dem) has heard the people and know that this is the bill we want.

2) The Senate (this may be a surprise to some) actually represents the EXACT same people the House does! (amazing isn't it)

3) PREGO! yes, PREGO! It's in there! Boehner's Bill includes renewables, solar, wind, nuclear, AND drilling.

4) We don't want "something done" for the sake of "getting something done." WE WANT A SOLUTION!

5) If ANYTHING needs to added to the Boehner bill it is this, we need to allow drilling without interference of baseless lawsuits from anti-progress, anti-independence yahoos.

6) If BOEHNER'S BILL is not able to pass the Senate- then let the PEOPLE see that the Republicans offered solutions, and the Dems BAWKED!

7) If nothing gets passed-- well, the sunset on the congressional moretoreum will expire and then.......

LET THE DRILLING BEGIN!!!!!!!!!

During the INITIAL offering, before the stock was offered in public, the stock was sold to a select group of investors for $3.86 per share, and this amounted to around 125,000 shares. Pelosi made her purchase on the day the stock was offered, which makes one suspicious that she was able to get the stock at the lower price. Her close ties to Hambrecht, a liberal activist who gives $80,000 per year to liberal causes, make one suspect that she had to have been in on the offering but we cannot prove this.

You know, too darn many in the political elite on both sides of the aisle participate in deals like this. How can so many politicians, who can barely find two cents of their own to rub together, go to DC, knock down a nice, but not excessive salary, and emerge wealthy? There's a real story here if anyone would actually track it down.

Today House Speaker Nancy Pelosi jets her way into the fourth week of her book tour with a dismal sales rank (as of Saturday night) on Amazon.com of 22,184th. Some 22,183 books are selling better than Pelosi’s own as House Republicans maintain their high-voltage revolt on Capitol Hill and nationwide demanding that Pelosi bring the House back into session for a vote to end the Congressional embargo on offshore drilling.

Instead of returning to debate their colleagues on practical energy policy last week, Democrats kept floating their wacky ideas. Democrat Majority Leader Steny Hoyer asked the Office of Personnel Management to provide him with “a comprehensive analysis” of a transition by federal government employees to a four-day work week.

LOL. Maybe the 4 day work week is the Dem's answer to conserving energy.

What Congress might do on the offshore drilling issue (Pelosi's in no position to "compromise")

"Q: I read your article regarding the limit on offshore drilling for oil that is set to expire on Sept. 30. What if the speaker of the House will not even bring it up for a vote? Does that mean the ban on most drilling will expire and we could start more drilling? This article really got me thinking, because I watch a lot of the news programs and no one has mentioned this. I would appreciate your comments, because that was one of the most interesting articles that I have read recently.

My understanding, from speaking with various folks who keep close tabs on Congress, is that the Democratic-controlled House is seeking to combine an extension of the ban on most drilling for another year with the annual spending bill, which will be waiting for congressional action upon their return from vacation in early September. If Republicans stick to their guns and oppose the annual budget bill because it includes another extension of the offshore drilling limit, this could lead to a government shutdown if a compromise isn't reached by the end of September..."

The concept is simple: Politicians, who are no more popular than high energy prices right now, see an easy scapegoat. So they slap an extra tax on the "bad guy" and take a bow.

... we tried a windfall profits tax from 1980 to 1988. A report by the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service concluded that this tax reduced domestic oil production by 3% to 6% and increased oil imports in the range of 8% to 16%.
