Sugarland, Sheryl Crow and Dave Matthews performed Sunday night (Aug. 24) near Denver during a kick-off concert for the Democratic national convention. The event at Red Rocks Amphitheatre was designed to call attention to environmental issues. During the concert, Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles told the crowd, "I wonder how many of you know who we are and what we do. We are here to support environmental awareness. ... Country music artists are stereotyped in so many ways. You think we don't care about the environment. We do." Nettles and Sugarland partner Kristian Bush have not endorsed a candidate and declined to divulge whether they are Democrats or Republicans. "This show has us here, specifically for this issue," she told Denver's Rocky Mountain News newspaper. "It's the first time in history -- that I've heard about or read about -- that the issue of environmental awareness has been at the forefront ... of a [major political convention] of any sort."
Sugarland, isn’t that the band that fired the fat girl from their band so they could be a bigger commercial success?
Glad to know they’re libs: I’ll get any of their tunes free from now on. None of my $$ for you clowns, tim mcgraw, faith hill, willie nelson or the other LIBERAL JERKS in country music.
Yes, margaret, there ARE liberals in country music: but none of ‘em get my cash.
Even Taylor Swift has a drawl, but it isn't an obnoxious nasal whine. For my money, I'll take Swift or SheDaisy anyday over Sugarland.
We’ll do their concert on 9/28 up here in NH, but only because the tickets were purchased months ago...
They’re merely supposed to sing, after all, and the chicks, currently on the “no go” list were better...
I guess us grunt engineers just get to suck it up.
Even Taylor Swift has a drawl, but it is kind of the sexy, country girl drawl, not this nasally whine. I'll take Taylor Swift or SheDaisy any day over Sugarland.
(This may be a double post, my computer is acting up).
Toby Keith was on the Glen Beck tv show and he said he had not iea who he was going to vote for.
Personally, I like the Rolling Stones, their music and their attitude. It's dirty, greasy, bluesey and rocks like a banshee.....and they could give a shiite about how many 1000's of megawatts they burn up or how many thousands of gallons of fuel they use getting there.
So how much crap did Dave Matthews’ Tour Bus dump in Denver?
That is what I read. Not sure if it’s true.
Sugarland has a lot of talent and some good tunes, but I just can’t stand the lead singer’s voice. It’s like chalk on a blackboard to me.
