Sugarland, Sheryl Crow and Dave Matthews performed Sunday night (Aug. 24) near Denver during a kick-off concert for the Democratic national convention. The event at Red Rocks Amphitheatre was designed to call attention to environmental issues. During the concert, Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles told the crowd, "I wonder how many of you know who we are and what we do. We are here to support environmental awareness. ... Country music artists are stereotyped in so many ways. You think we don't care about the environment. We do." Nettles and Sugarland partner Kristian Bush have not endorsed a candidate and declined to divulge whether they are Democrats or Republicans. "This show has us here, specifically for this issue," she told Denver's Rocky Mountain News newspaper. "It's the first time in history -- that I've heard about or read about -- that the issue of environmental awareness has been at the forefront ... of a [major political convention] of any sort."
Is Sheryl singing about her one-square-of-toilet-paper-per-visit quota?
Sheryl Crow just played some dreary gig here in Reno a few days ago. Tickets weren’t exactly sold out, to say the least.
If Crow’s ass don’t stink from 10’ away she’s a liar.
I like Sugarland.... They played a show at the MIZZOU arena with Kenny Chesney. Chesney was alright. Sugarland was good.

Bull. Gee, I wonder what party she belongs to.
All they wanna do is have some unity, but I got a feeling they ARE the only ones.
Check out that Dave Matthews music video, btw - it’s a hoot.
Okay sweetheart, since yer sooooo enviro conscious, why don't you add up the Carbon Footprint yer liddle git together has created.
Let's see...50,000 idiot fans, averaging 2 to a car. Red Rocks is probably an average 40 mile roundtrip fer all the kool-aid drinkers.
How many mega-watts of power is used to power the electronics and lights?
Then we have the airfare and mileage for all the performers, crew, security, support staff serving booze and food.
FRIGGIN BUNCH OF GANG GREEN HYPOCRITES!!!!!!!
I knew Sugarland were lefties. I’ve always sensed a tint of dixie-chickness with them.
I like Sugarland....

I used to like them. My fading fondness has now bottomed out.
Local Denver news channel showed Red Rocks during the concert...to say it wasn't exactly sold out either would be a massive UNDERSTATEMENT.
None of the crowds promised by either the DNC themselves, or the moonbat protestors, or the otherwise great-unwashed, have materialized.
Yesterdays 50,000 anticipated protestors actually numbered in the hundreds...and were massively outnumbered by the media...and by the cops.
However, if HRC pulls off a surprise move and gets the nom, I'm glad I only live NEAR, not in, Denver...
“Sad to see Sugarland dipping their toes in the moonbat koolaid.”
Very sad and disappointing to me. I wouldn’t have thought that.
Wait just a doggone minute there! You can’t hold these people to the same standards as everyone else! Why, these people are important! So, a little carbon foot print here and there, when you realize all the good they’re doing, it’s worth it. Remember, “All animals are created equal, but some are more equal than others.”

At least Sugarland had the good sense to stay on the topic of environmentalism....they didn’t go into Bush bashing, or MaCain Maiming or any of that nonsense....honestly, I think it was another high profile, big money gig for ‘em and nothing else...
I would like to know if Toby Kieth did. I am going to trow his music out if he did.
They’re playing here in Oct, at the GA Nat’l Fair. I want to go see them.
I want to hear her sing this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIyxkZod2cM
Phooey. I liked Sugarland.
Hey Nettles! I CARE ABOUT THE ENVIROMENT MORE THAN YOU DO! I'm just not obsessed with it and don't want morons using it as a scare tactic to make their boy, Algore and all his doofus friends rich.
