God bless her on this trip.

Just curious, does anyone know of any charity that michelle obama is involved in? Of course I'm not talking about the nation of islam sponsored junk we know of.
I heard today that the hospital she works for will not even take people without insurance. They ship them off to one of several other hospitals.

My apologies...I thought it was Cindy Sheehan at first glance...good grief.
I have confidence that Cindy McCain will do a fine diplomatic job.

"She has slipped away from the campaign trail frequently this year: In March McCain visited Kosovo with HALO, to assess progress in clearing minefields there. In June she was in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia, working with Operation Smile, the charity that helps disfigured children, on whose board she also serves. In July she was in Rwanda, reviewing relief efforts by the World Food Program. She planned to return to the U.S. from Georgia late Wednesday: "It's a very quick trip."" Busy woman and an excellent American!

Earthdweller,
I know your first post was a goof but it cracked me up good once I saw your second post and realized who your thought was Cindy.

No way she can match Hillary’s bullet-dodging trip to Bosnia. *nyuck nyuck*

Michelle cant compare. Agreed, but let's look at the spin. How many people will hear and comprehend why Cindy McCain is going to Georgia?
If you heard that Michelle Obama was going to Georgia to meet with political leaders, how would you react (before you knew why)?
Forget the partisans on both sides -- it won't make a bit of difference to them. Try to see this from the point of view of fence-sitters. Is this going to help or hurt McCain?

I think it will help.
There aren’t many (any?) potential or current first ladies who will travel to a war zone on an humanitarian effort.
It’s not like this is the first time she’s been involved in humanitarian efforts.
She’s on the BOD of HALO.
This is part of who she is.
To Michelle, a humanitarian effort is to ship the uninsured out of her hospital to a clinic that will take them.

"Cindy McCain's Mission to Georgia (Will Meet w/ Pres. Sakaasvili)Couldn't have anything to do with the fact that McCain's principal foreign policy adviser, Randy Scheunemann, was a wekk paid lobbyist for Georgia, now could it? Nah, of course not!

To paraphrase Coco Chanel, “A lady should always be 2 things - classy and fabulous!” From what I have seen of Mrs. McCain, that is what she is. Besides her charity work, she always presents herself well - impeccable hair, makeup, and clothes.
