Protesters confront Fox News reporter (Ward Churchill there)

STATE CAPITOL - Security at an anti-war rally outside the state Capitol this morning allegedly had to break up a confrontation between a Fox News reporter and Ward Churchill, a former University of Colorado professor who caused an uproar when he called victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks "little Eichmanns."

Churchill, who was thrust into the national spotlight after writing a controversial essay in which he compared the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks to Nazi bureaucrat Adolf Eichmann, was hounded by the persistent reporter, who allegedly put his hands on Churchill, organizer Glenn Spagnuolo said.

The watchword Sunday, on the eve of the gathering, was security, especially amid rumors that protesters were preparing to rush the security check point into the convention complex.

police distributed a pamphlet reminding protesters of where they have a right do demonstrate and warning them they can be arrested if they refuse a lawful order to disperse.

Glenn Spagnuolo, co-founder of Recreate 68, an anti-war group that was expected to lead the first protests Sunday, responded to the police pamphlet with disdain: “We have a pamphlet called the Constitution,” he said in a statement. “A lot of us have read it already.”

Sadly, you’re right. I read a FReepers post over a month ago that works in the area and they stated the employer already had been planning for the worst, law enforcement had better come down hard and fast.
