From David Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com/DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
"FBI files from 1976, recently made public under the Freedom of Information Act, confirm the connections between Weatherman, Havana, and Moscow. Weatherman leaders like Mark Rudd traveled illegally to Havana in 1968 to engage in terrorist training. There, camps set up by Soviet KGB Colonel Vadim Kotchergine were educating Westerners both in Marxist philosophy and urban warfare."

"Their founding document [the Weather Underground's] called for the establishment of a "white fighting force" to be allied with the "Black Liberation Movement" and other "anti-colonial" movements[1] to achieve "the destruction of US imperialism and the achievement of a classless world: world communism."..."-Berger, Dan (2006). Outlaws of America: The Weather Underground and the Politics of Solidarity. AK Press, pg 95.

For much more on the ObamaRats and the strong communist angle in all this, i.e. the one being largely ignored by both the left AND most of the right-wing media, particularly the more popular personalities like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingram, Bill O'Reilly, etc, please check out my FR Home page. Everything there is well documented and linked directly to its source. Thanks.

“But Mr. Ayers also seems to want to have it both ways, taking responsibility for daring acts in his youth, then deflecting it.”

In other words Mr. Ayers is like all leftists, unable to be honest about his beliefs because he knows they are too weak, as is Ayers himself, to stand on their own merits.

Its president, Deborah Harrington, is sick and has been unable to reply to the flurry of inquiries.

Has she recovered? :)

He went underground in 1970, after his girlfriend, Diana Oughton, and two other people were killed when bombs they were making exploded in a Greenwich Village town house>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Too bad some policeman had not shot this little fascist prig years ago, in apprehension of his acts of cowardly violence.

He'd make a great running target at Quantico.

Now he wants to disappear again because he has been outed in his ideological mentor connection with Obama!

Too late Ayers. We have your numbah!

Here , tape this piece of paper on your back and walk out that way.

Holy CARP! I turned the tv back on- someone asked ..don’t you think Obama made a good choice with Biden? PAT CADDEL (the Dem the Dems love to hate!) said (papraphrase) he’d like to know who’s REALLY making the decisions/choices...mentioned Jim Johnson and the whole Mayor Daley machine...THEN HE SAID- if the press wasn’t so busy covering for Obama and was doing their job- maybe we’d know more about what’s going on in Obama’s background...

WHOA!!!

Yep- about 20 mins ago.

Pat is a die-hard liberal and has become really disenchanted with the Democrats over the years...like hitchens -but different.

His analysis is always fascinating- cause he says exactly what he thinks.

Once again I am late to the party, so I must ask...is the Ayers connection getting more press now? I know Sean has been relentless on this and now there is a new ad. Is this something that Clinton Inc. would pursue?

Yes- Ayers is getting more exposure- look what Stanley Kurtz has been up to in the last few days- from The Corner
http://corner.nationalreview.com/

Thank You on Annenberg [Stanley Kurtz]

I’ll have more to say about the Chicago Annenberg Challenge in some follow-up posts, but first I want to express my gratitude to the many readers who contacted UIC to call for release of the records. UIC has now agreed to make these records public. I received cc’s from several hundred emailers, and I have indications that the actual number of messages to UIC may have been in the thousands. I’m also extremely grateful to the radio talk-show hosts, bloggers, and columnists who helped build pressure for release of the records. Although UIC has sought to portray this as a simple misunderstanding. It’s clear from Chicago radio talk-show host, Jerry Agar’s interview with a UIC spokesman that the university and donor were keeping alive the option of UIC giving all the records back. It’s also clear from my initial struggle with library personnel that their schedule for release of the records was several weeks down the road, at the very least. I believe that public scrutiny and pressure foreclosed the options of return or delay and led to swift release of the records. So, again, to all who helped with this battle, a hearty and happy thank you.

Annenberg Timing [Stanley Kurtz]

I now have an appointment to arrive at the Special Collections department of the Richard J. Daley library this coming Tuesday morning to begin examining the Chicago Annenberg Challenge records. In conformity with the rules for viewing special collections material, I have informed the librarians that I would like to exercise my right to reserve the Chicago Annenberg Challenge records for my own use for the maximum period of five days.

Keep in mind that it takes a great deal of time to make hand notes, and that we are dealing with a truly massive amount of material. It took me two months of continuous work (and no blogging) to work through the many hundreds of articles on Obama (and a large amount of further background material) that I reported on in my piece, “Barack Obama’s Lost Years.” Obviously, we don’t have time between now and the election for a truly thorough analysis of the CAC records. Even hand copying and/or waiting for photocopies to be mailed (which I do hope the library will do in a timely manner) will delay things.

On the other hand, it is certainly possible that, even after a single day, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge records might provide some striking revelations. Or, it’s possible that with just a few days of concerted work, some very interesting, if preliminary, information will emerge from my examination of the records. Obviously, I can’t say for certain exactly what I’ll find or how quickly I’ll be able to get the information to readers. But the “finding aid” does provide some very tantalizing hints and clues, and there is at least the real possibility of some important and quick revelations.

My goal will be to get interesting information out as quickly as I can. But readers need to understand that, in the ordinary course of things, with this massive volume of material and without the ability to make immediate photocopies, I would wait weeks, or even months, before analyzing and reporting, just as I waited with “Barack Obama’s Lost Years.” But again, recognizing the press of the campaign and the intense public interest, I will make every effort to report as much as I can, as quickly as I can.

Annenberg Restrictions and/or Tampering [Stanley Kurtz]

Has any material from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge records been redacted, removed, or destroyed since my dispute with the library began? The answer is: I do not know. I don’t know if UIC simply determined that it had legal authority to open the materials, without further agreement from the donor, or whether UIC is making this material available only after having restricted some material, at the donor’s request. Obviously, I will be on the lookout when I view the records for evidence of tampering, or of, say, names in critical places being blacked out. I will also be able to compare folders indicated by the “finding aid” with what is made available to me.

But as of now, I simply know nothing of what might or might not have happened to the records in the past ten days, or about what further agreements and restrictions may have been laid on the material at the behest of the donor in the past few days. I have not yet seen UIC’s actual statement announcing the release of the records. According to the following note from the Chicago Sun-Times: “Friday, UIC said it had fulfilled the terms of the gift and plans to make the records available Tuesday.” So what exactly are “the terms of the gift?” What restrictions might that entail, and will these restrictions perhaps already have barred me from access to key portions of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge records? At this point, I simply cannot answer that question.

Last Monday afternoon I filed a Freedom of Information Act request asking to see all communications between UIC and the donor regarding the Chicago Annenberg Challenge records. That FOIA request is still active, and is supposed to receive a response within seven working days. This may provide some clues to the mystery. Presumably, it would likely also reveal the name of the donor.

According to the Wikipedia article which I refuse to link to Ayers’s father was the Chairman and CEO of Commonwealth Edison. Is it fair to say he probably was in the top 1%, materially speaking, growing up?

Thanks...there was a thread on that request for Barry’s records last night and I asked if Clinton Inc. might have pulled a few strings to all of a sudden get them released. Everyone posted to me that they would be scrubbed. Do you think they will reveal something?

HMMM ... HMMM ... HMMM .... missed that.

He said the Chicago Machine is that involved in
his decisions ?? Well, that would certainly
include Durbin .. and good old former
Clintonista, Rahm Emmanuel. But I have to say
I’m shocked that Daley would be included.

~~~~
Speaking of Rahm .. while I choke on the other
name:
http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2008/08/21/campaigns-agree-to-debate-formats/
Campaigns Agree to Debate Formats
Susan Davis reports on the presidential race.
John McCain and Barack Obama found something they can agree on. In a joint statement today, the rival presidential campaigns announced they have agreed to the formats for the upcoming three presidential debates touting it as the “earliest agreement on presidential debates reached in any general election in recent history.”
Democratic Rep. Rahm Emanuel of Illinois and South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham negotiated on behalf of the presidential rivals.
~~~~~

And from the kos site I won’t link:

“Rahm Emanuel:

The way the loser loses will determine whether the winner wins in November.

One guess who he’s talking about. Though really, why not just say it explicitly already?”

~~~~
And Emanuel’s speaking at the Dim Convention Tuesday (from that huff site):
“REP. RAHM EMANUEL: The Illinois Democrat chairs the Democratic caucus in the House and helped steer the party’s successful 2006 effort to win control of Congress. Emanuel is one of the Democrats’ top strategists, but he and other House leaders failed this year to secure enough votes to make price-gouging at the gas pump a federal crime.”
~~~~

OMG!!! HERE IT IS!!

With a click on a laptop at Obama’s Chicago headquarters, the Obama-Biden ticket is born

http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2008/08/with_a_click_on_a_laptop_at_ob.html

If it’s not a thread, I’m gonna post it.

I really do think Pat Caddel is right- if reporters were doing their job- all the ugliness in Barry’s background would be out...and I think between ACORN, The Woods Foundation and Annenberg- there’s some real dirt. The Chicago Way.

I can’t really believe we’re watching this all happen SO LATE.

Follow the money.
