A Schleicher County grand jury today handed down three new felony indictments in the state's polygamist sect investigation, a court clerk said.
Schleicher County District Clerk Peggy Williams said the indictments involve three individuals. It's unclear whether those individuals are new defendants or suspects already charged in the probe.
The identities of those individuals were not immediately available. Neither were the actual charges listed in the indictments.
The grand jury last month indicted six members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Court hearings for those individuals is scheduled for Sept. 8, authorities said.
The grand jury plans to reconvene on Sept. 23, Williams said.
Sect spokesman Willie Jessop was one of six witnesses subpoenaed today. When asked about his testimony, Jessop told reporters: "We certainly believe there is a God. We believe he will judge all. Those who judge will be judged themselves."
In related action today, a case involving Lloyd Barlow, a physician at the sect's YFZ compound near Eldorado, was transferred to the Schleicher County court system. He is facing three charges of failing to report child abuse, a misdemeanor. He was among the six members of FLDS indicted last month.
Jeff's has a 14 year old bride, with children? Sorry but I am not buying it.
I hate to be the one to break the news to you but Jeffs is in prison and has been for a couple of years.
No, they're not. If they break the law they are wrong. Statutory rape is immoral as recognized by all normal people and it is illegal. Very few would defend it and even fewer would consider that condemning rape or law breaking is religious persecution.

No, they're not.
Main Entry: per·se·cute
1: to harass or punish in a manner designed to injure, grieve, or afflict; specifically : to cause to suffer because of belief
2: to annoy with persistent or urgent approaches (as attacks, pleas, or importunities)
Show me where I harassed or punished any FLDS member. Or where I caused them to suffer. Or where even annoyed them with persistence.
I suppose you are also teaching him about the minor who gave birth to Christ out of wedlock too?
So much for respecting the fairer sex : (
Oh lets see. The persecution of the FLDS for their beliefs? By you. The extermination order against the Mormons?
You never said anything about anyone else ordering the extermination of Mormons. That was clearly the sentence following your accusation against me about persecution of FLDS.
FWIW, why are you using the terms FLDS and Mormons interchangeably? First, it's persecution of FLDS and then suddenly you switch gears and talk about the extermination of Mormons as if it's the same thing.
Why are you equating the persecution of FLDS with the extermination of Mormons?
So go ahead, show me where I ordered the extermination of Mormons.
Prosecution for law breaking is not persecution of religious beliefs.
Are you that clueless about what he's in prison FOR? Or don't you consider child rape a crime?
I apologize. It was the mother of one of Warren Jeff’s brides who refused to name her children, not the actual child bride herself.
LOLOLOL!
You didn't really believe that did you?
Seven hours? That isn't even physically possible.
LOL
Seven hours?
For an atheist, you sure are a believer in speculation.
It’s no surprise that an atheist would deliberately cloud the issue by changing the subject and making innuendos that suggest impropriety about God, Jesus, Mary, etc.
The issue isn’t child brides. It’s about law breaking. It’s statutory rape by pedophiles.
People can believe that polygamy is right all they want, even though they’re wrong. But practicing it is illegal. Sex with under 18 girls is illegal in TX.
There’s no reason in the world that those filthy old perverts could not have waited to *marry* (rape) those girls until they were clearly 18. That’s the issue that got them into this mess.
And just WHY did they have to take as wives any girls under the age of 18? You know the answer to that....Cause they’re pedophiles.
It’s too bad that there are those who defend them. IT goes to show how the moral fabric of our society has deteriorated.
Did you believe TX CPS when they announced they had determined that so many FLDS boys had broken bones? I did not believe it then and I do not believe anything they say to this day.
You trust the government; I do not.
There’s an ongoing case where FLDS attorneys are asking that all “evidence” taken during the raid be thrown out because it was all snatched illegally. Don’t hear much about it in the MSM, naturally, Isn’t it amazing how so many FReepers are in bed with the government and the media on this case?
LOL! He was a damn Socialist looking to violently overthrow the Gov. (or at least preachin it)
I don’t think that applies here. Nice try though.
LG; you KNOW she was married!
Bingo.
Why did you run for public office?
Why would you want to join the ranks of those you do not trust?
From you own page:
16. Ran for U.S. House of Reps. CA Dist 13, Primary 2000. Came in third place over all.
Yes My guess and several Lawyers that I have talked to all think that in light of the Appeals court and Supreme court ruling, evidence obtained from the first warrant will definitely be thrown out. Fruit of the poison tree and all that.
The question then becomes whether the Second Warrant stands since it was based on the first warrant. If they actually saw crimes committed then it will stand and they can probably claim that the evidence was collected under the jurisdiction of the second warrant. The problem for the State is that also according to the Appeals Court and Supreme Court they didn’t see crimes being carried out.
The second warrant has a much better basis than the first. If they can separate the two warrants then the State probably can use the evidence. The other problem for the State and FLDS is the difference between Civil and Criminal statutes. They seem to be intermingling the two and they are entirely different law.
Oh, I forgot, an adulteress too : ( But I suppose you are right, Mary must have had two husbands. When I think of that story, the FLDS don't sound so odd. Except that it is a child with multiple husbands.
The Extermination Order was directed at anyone who was a Mormon. That is precisely prosecution and persecution based on religious beliefs. How can you claim otherwise?
