Survey finds hunters, anglers favor John McCain

The survey, conducted by Braun Research, polled 1,009 sportsmen of which 45% said they’d vote for McCain, while 31% tilted toward Obama.

Asked whom they’d rather hunt with, 49% said McCain, 27% answered Obama. As a fishing partner, 44% favored McCain over Obama (31%).

None of this is surprising, since many serious sportsmen are Republicans, and considering that the survey was conducted on behalf of sportsmens’ rights groups that already knew what it would conclude.

When they said they polled sportsmen, did they mean men or use ‘sportsman’ as a gender-neutral term?

Anyway, if Obama hunted, we could take pictures and see who looked like a bigger dork - him or Kerry. “Can ah git me a huntin’ license heah?”

Most conservatives own firearms, many of them hunt and many more of them fish, some do both. Nothing new or surprising here except for an obvious attempt to portray Republicans(I perfer the term conservative myself)as redneck racists.

To clarify, the number of people who want to hunt with Obama seems surprisingly high. If they polled only men, it could be understandable because there are a fair number of old-school Democrat men who hunt.

From experience, however, female hunters seem to be almost exculsively conservative.
