I'm Innocent,' Missing Girl's Mom Says Leaving Jail

Media Mob Prompts 'Black-List' Threat From Attorney

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The mother of a missing Orlando girl said, "I'm innocent" before walking out of jail and encountering a frenzied mob of reporters and photographers in a case that continues to grab national attention

Casey Anthony, 22, left the Orange County Jail Thursday after celebrity bounty hunter Leonard Padilla helped post her $500,000 bail.

Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, said she wanted to walk out of the jail with her head held high before being rushed by the media.

"Just as we were walking out, I covered her up and she stopped me, and you may notice we stopped for a brief moment and she told me in my ear that she wanted me to take the umbrella down and she said to me, 'Jose, I'm innocent and I'm going to walk out of this place with my head held high.' We were about to do that and you all bombarded us. You could have had all of the photographs you wanted."

Baez then threatened to possibly cut off some media channels.

"I discussed certain things with the family and what we've decided that if there are any channels or media outlets that continue that type behavior or violate their privacy by coming on their property -- basically crossing the line and I think you are all adults and you know what crossing the line is and what aggressive reporting is and things like that is," Baez said. "That is not going to happen any more. If you do, we will cut off that channel from any interviews and any statements and that channel can get their news from another channel. If you want to be on that black list or whatever you want to call it, continue that type of behavior. We are just not going to put up with it. We don't have to put up with that."

Baez said someone tried to get underneath an umbrella shielding Anthony.

"I didn't know if they were going attack us or what they were going to do," Baez said. "I don't know any of you from anywhere. No one should be invading anyone's private space that way. I ask you and plead with you all to please respect my privacy and my client's privacy and her family's."

Baez said he was disgusted by the crowd's actions.

"No one has the right to go pushing against me or her just to get a sound bite," Baez said. "To be quite honest with you, I was really disgusted by the whole thing."

Anthony: 'I Want Hot Shower'

Padilla said he heard one request from Anthony after leaving jail and reuniting with her family.

"I want to get a hot shower (she said)," according to Padilla. "She went into her mother's arm. Her mother said, 'Hey,' and (Casey) said, 'I want to get a shower.'"

Padilla said the family gathering was emotional and they were hugging.

Before her release, there was speculation that Anthony would not leave jail.

"I never had a doubt (she would be freed)," Padilla said. "I didn't come 3,000 miles to have some local bullies bluff us. She is out."

Casey Anthony was fitted with an ankle bracelet and will be placed on home confinement at her parents' house.

Her daughter, Caylee, 3, has been missing since mid-June and was reported missing by her mother in mid-July after Casey Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony.

Casey Anthony was arrested and charged with child neglect, filing a false statement and obstructing an investigation.

Earlier, threats against the family if Casey Anthony leaves jail prompted Cindy Anthony to consider the use of a safe house.

"Right here, I don't think is the ideal place for her not because we don't want her in the house and everything, but we may have to hole her up somewhere in a safe house," Cindy Anthony said.

'Jose, I'm innocent and I'm going to walk out of this place with my head held high.'

Call my cynical, but I just have a hard time believing this was said.

"She went into her mother's arm. Her mother said, 'Hey,' and (Casey) said, 'I want to get a shower.'"

God forbid she mention her missing daughter.

Again ending my post with...

Grrrrrrr.....(my teeth are going to crack if I keep grinding them like this LOL)

I truly hope she is innocent of murder or manslaughter, because Caylee may then be alive. However, at the very least she is guilty of horrific negligence.

The only way I’d accept “innocent” was if someone else killed or kidnapped the little girl and threatened to do the same to her and her parents..............

Something is odd about this whole case. From waiting a month before reporting her missing, to her saying to her father "She's close" to this weirdo/celebwannabe bounty hunter.

People have been known to sell their children for drugs and/or money... could that have been the case here?

The new Scott Peterson case.

It is blatanly obvious that 1) the child is dead and 2) the mother is guilty of manslaughter, whether intentional or accidental.

The shovel, the smell of death in the car, blood and hair samples, the sociopath mother who won’t talk about her child.

The fact that the judge let her out of jail is a grave miscarriage of justice.

OH WAIT! These are probably Democrats! The mother has right to kill her child since the child came from the mother’s body.

It has been conjectured. But that doesn't explain the gas cans in the car abandoned at a strip mall, the smell of "death" in the car, the borrowed shovel, the cell phone records and the cell tower triangulations putting her in the middle of nowhere near the airport................

The blood and hair samples tests have not yet been made public. The only other explanation could be she killed the person who was responsible for taking the child before she could get the location info from him/her. That would explain the other things............but not likely.............

I think you’re right - I think the poor little girl was sold. Depending on who “bought” her, she may be better off.

Yes she’s definitely guilty of negligence if nothing else. I can’t imagine any parent not reporting their child missing for a month. And there are holes in the stories we are told. I hope and pray we don’t find out the worst. When Elizabeth Smart was found, it gave hope to all that missing children can be found.

Speaking of that bounty hunter...he said last nite that he was hoping Casey would offer him 'some clues' that would lead to the recovery of little Caylee.

Meanwhile, Casey's attorney has told her to talk to NOBODY except family members....which would obviously leave the bounty hunter out of the loop.

Innocent of what? She was charged with lying to the police - be her own admission she’s not innocent of that, and child neglect - well she doesn’t know how or where her child is, so she’s not innocent of that.
So, what does she think she’s innocent of?
