Glenn Beck has a pitchfork brigade forming in response to the congressional boycott of the peoples wishes.

The same politicians who are blocking future energy development are heavily invested in current energy sources. This is a blatant conflict of interest.

EACH STATE HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF VOTING THE BASTARDS OUT. This is not the time for appeasement talk in an election year. WE WANT CONCRETE ACTION HERE AND NOW.
NO ACTION, NO VOTE.

New Left Wing Anti-Energy Strategy: Drill Nothing, Tax Everything ( Newt Gingrich )

"The last few days have seen left wing anti-energy Democrats scrambling to find a survivable position.

When we first launched the Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less petition drive at American Solutions, left wing anti-energy Democrats were deeply and decisively opposed.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced that she was "saving the planet" by stopping drilling.

Senator Obama made fun of drilling and announced that inflating your tires would increase energy availability as much as drilling.

Congressman Mark Udall (D-CO), a hard line environmental extremist and anti-energy Democrat (and the author in the House of the ban on developing oil shale, a resource proven to have three times more oil than Saudi Arabia), was confidently opposed to drilling and comfortably ahead of Republican former Congressman Bob Schaffer for the Colorado Senate seat.

Then the American people began to sign the petition..."

Western Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 207 Attracts $487,297,676 in High Bids

"Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne announced that the Western Gulf of Mexico Oil and Gas Lease Sale 207, held today in New Orleans, attracted $487,297,676 in high bids. The sale was conducted by Interior’s Minerals Management Service (MMS) and had 53 companies submitting 423 bids on 319 tracts comprising over 1.8 million acres offshore Texas. The sum of all bids received totaled $607,134,968.

“In the midst of the national discussion about energy production, the activity at today’s sale signals that the offshore oil and gas industry is serious about developing our Nation’s resources,” said Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne.

Approximately 17 percent of the tracts receiving bids are in ultra-deep water (more than 1,600 meters). The deepest tract bid on is Alaminos Canyon, Block 783 in 2,977 meters of water. The highest bid received on a tract was $61,110,000, submitted by Statoil Gulf of Mexico LLC for Alaminos Canyon, Block 380.

Each high bid on a tract will go through an evaluation process within MMS to ensure the public receives fair market value before a lease is awarded."

USDA: Food Prices to Post Biggest Increase Since 1990

"... Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer said last week he did not see any relief for food prices during the remainder of the year.

The cost of energy — used to transport, package and process foods — is still boosting food prices, even though energy prices have dropped. Oil has slumped from a record high above $147 a barrel on July 11 to $115.

"We haven't seen those prices reflected in the finished products yet," Schafer said.

Americans spend more than $1 trillion a year on groceries, snacks, carry-out food and meals in restaurants. Farmers get 20 cents of the food dollar and the rest goes to processing, labor, transportation and distribution."

Like your high cost of living? Thank a Democrat!

Speaker Pelosi, Tear Down This Wall ( Vote on drilling )

"For weeks (since the House abruptly adjourned for the summer), Republicans have been in Washington demanding Speaker Pelosi to allow an up or down vote to free America’s own energy from the Democrats’ embargo and ease the pain that Americans currently face at the pump.

Rather than offer solutions, Speaker Pelosi continues to insult the intelligence of hardworking Americans struggling to pay historically high energy prices. Members of Congress ought to do the jobs they were sent to do and remain in Washington until a solution to the country’s energy crisis is passed. Instead, Speaker Pelosi adjourned the House of Representatives for five weeks. Though she might have made environmentalists proud by turning off the floor lights, CSPAN cameras, and microphones behind her, they could not have been thrilled to watch her hop into her gas tax-exempt government SUV (no doubt with its tires correctly inflated) and her Air Force jet to go on a five-week, nationwide book tour. Her actions seem a little too far removed from the pain that hardworking Americans are feeling from high energy costs for comfort.

Perhaps Speaker Pelosi didn’t realize that House Republicans hear the American people loud and clear, and she certainly didn’t expect us to make clear that we have had enough of the Democrats’ embargo against the production of American-owned domestic energy. Over a hundred of Republican members have already opted to protest the Speaker’s vacation and have returned to Washington to demand that she call an emergency special session of Congress to vote on our “all of the above” American Energy Act. Surely $4 per gallon gasoline is more important to the American people than promoting a book..."
