Why or when did the 2nd amendment get limited to the right to own a gun for just hunting? On could say that all handguns are not for hunting and ban all of them. This is ridiculous.

The 2nd is for the citizen to be able to violently overthrow the government.

It's not about hunting. It's not about crime.

Absurd of course. At the time the amendment was written banning hunting would been considered ludicrous on the level of gay marriage.

There is no “sporting purpose” test for firearms.

This is just another seed planted for the eventual destruction of the 1968 GCA. Heller had to be denied a license to own a handgun in order to reach the US Supreme Court to vindicate his constitutional right to own one. I’m not particularly worried about a corrupt North Carolina circuit court decision.
