U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, the first black woman to represent Ohio in Congress, died Wednesday evening at a Cleveland area hospital after suffering an aneurysm.
Tubbs Jones, 58, chaired the House Ethics Committee and was one of Hillary Clinton’s biggest supporters during the Democratic primaries.
The liberal Democrat, first elected in 1998, suffered a brain hemorrhage while driving her car in Cleveland Heights Tuesday night, said Dr. Gus Kious, president of Huron Hospital. He said the “very serious” hemorrhage was caused by an aneurysm that burst in an inaccessible part of her brain.
Her death was announced late Wednesday in a statement from the family, Huron Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic. They said she died at 6:12 p.m.
Fox News just aired a press conference where they said she in fact had not passed away...Fox is trying to figure out why the news earlier was that she had passed away.

Hospital news conference just concluded: Tubbs-Jones is NOT dead, she remains in critical condition following an aneurysm in an area of the brain that cannot be reached for surgery.

Had a friend (Black guy, about the same age) go the same way about 10 years ago. One minute he was teaching Bible Class at church, the next minute he was on the floor and gone for all intents and purposes. They kept him “alive” for about 12 hours, probably to give the family time to say good bye.
Yes, I called him “black”. If I ever called him “African-American”, he’d probably come back and slap me. He HATED that term, especially since he could trace his family in this country back about 300 years!
Then while she was suffocating, Kennedy called people trying to get them to claim they where driving his car.

They are reporting now that she may still be in critical condition - not dead.
She is alive. The Dr.s just said so. Per news conf. Critical condition.
If you believe that, I hope you jump over to the shoplifting thread and tell all those celebrants to cool it.
RIP. I’d only just read about the aneurysm a couple hours ago at a story linked from Drudge. Sad outcome. She was too young.
I would have to think the Dr. would be the best source here.

What you say is true only for abdominal aortic aneurysms. They didn’t specify that it was aortic. Brain aneurysms are congenital, and often hereditary, and can occur any time.
He was put on life support. When they did a brain scan, they found no brain fuctions but for some reason they were required to keep him on life support for 24 hours.
