McCain responds to Obama at an event today in New Mexico:
Yesterday, Senator Obama got a little testy on this issue. He said that I am questioning his patriotism. Let me be clear: I am not questioning his patriotism; I am questioning his judgment. Senator Obama has made it clear that he values withdrawal from Iraq above victory in Iraq, even today with victory in sight. Over and over again, he has advocated unconditional withdrawal â regardless of the facts on the ground. And he voted against funding for troops in combat, after saying it would be wrong to do so. He has made these decisions not because he doesn't love America, but because he doesn't seem to understand the consequences of an American defeat in Iraq, how it would risk a wider war and threaten the security of American families. I am going to end this war, but when I bring our troops home, they will come home with honor and victory, leaving Iraq secured as a democratic ally in the Arab heartland.

McCain’s spokesman had a similar response today. Kudos to the campaign. I especially liked McCain’s “testy” part. I hope they continue to play that up, as Obama undoubtedly gets nastier and more desperate.
Great response...makes Obama look like even more of a whiny child.
Most excellent however I do question his lack of patriotism-doesn’t wear a flag pin unless on camera or after comments made about it-didn’t put his hand on his heart during pledge lots of examples demonstrating his lack of patriotism. The truth hurts O!!!
All the king's horses and all the MSM may not be able to put Obambi back together again.
Then I question both his judgement and his patriotism.
Amen.
I believe he can fulfill those promises as he seeks to make progress in the overall WOT.
I am going to end this war, but when I bring our troops home, they will come home with honor and victory, leaving Iraq secured as a democratic ally in the Arab heartland.
Ditto that....I wish McCain would have the b***s to say it.
It needs to be yelled from the rooftops just exactly what Obama is and stands for.
But alas, no guts no glory. Thanks for nothing GOP
NO...he’s doing exactly what he needs to do. Obama’s judgment (about many things) NEEDS to be what is questioned.
Well, you and I both know that the truth hurts...and Obama is hurting.
McCain is making fine headway in his tact to date. He is ripping Obama apart with the ads he is running, and he is showing how Obama gets testy and emotional and really doesn't have the stomach for a fight...which if he can't do here in the elections, he will never do in the big league up against the likes of a Putin.
That's not lost on people watching what's going on and seeing the world conditions around us.
Like you, if it were me, I would come out and say it direct..but I am not and could never be a "politician".
We both know that we need a whole lot less "politicians" and a lot more statesmen...but we have what we have in this election and have to make our choices accordingly.
McCain is the kindly adult having to deal with the spoiled child... every time Fauxbama opens his mouth, the more he looks like he should be in nappies.
Ping.
I don't think they care enough to protect its culture or the legacy of the Founding Fathers.
When they say they love it, they are talking about the landscape, not the philosophy. They don't love it for what it is, they love it for what they think they can make it into.
McCain needs to quit promising that he'll end the war on terrorism. This is a battle that will be fought for a long long time. The Muzzies won't give up. ------ Coldwater Creek
Where did McCain say that he would "end the war on terrorism"?
He is talking about the War in Iraq which is one front on the war on terrorism.
When you win at Guadalcanal, you don't keep all your forces at Guadalcanal. You leave a holding force and you move on to the next front.
Geez this SOB may actually become POTUS - can you believe this crap? This country is going to hell in a handbasket quickly - 1/2 of all Americans are stupid.
But I'd still love to hear it, just too tired of the PC crap...guess I'd never make it in politics either
It was a remarkably stupid thing for Obama to say. Hopefully he won't learn from his mistake.
“He is ripping Obama apart with the ads he is running, and he is showing how Obama gets testy and emotional and really doesn’t have the stomach for a fight..”
this is a big point - Obama is remarkably thin-skinned for a Presidential candidate (which really speaks to his inexperience and lack of humility). Hilary got under his skin a few times and it not only threw him off key but it got him to make unforced errors. McCain is using it to full effect. I think Obama will continue to look and sound worse and worse down the stretch run when the heat is on.
