In a sharp turnaround, Republican John McCain has opened a 5-point lead on Democrat Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race and is seen as a stronger manager of the economy, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

McCain leads Obama among likely U.S. voters by 46 percent to 41 percent, wiping out Obama's solid 7-point advantage in July and taking his first lead in the monthly Reuters/Zogby poll.

I thought I heard on Fox this morning that Barry has not informed his VP yet. Fox News Alert—Joe Biden’s driveway! The Drive-Bys are camped out watching for clues.

Major Garret on Foxnews now.

He says during a townhall meeting last night somebody asked McCain about what he looks for in a VP.

5 times during Obama’s answer he used the word “he”

Make no mistake — Hillary Clinton is as inexperienced as is Obama. Even moreso. Bill was the elected official through house, governorship, and presidency. Hillary was the spouse.

It makes as much sense to have your heart bypass worked on by the spouse of the surgeon, as it does to claim Hillary is experienced because of being married to Bill.

What the Dark Side is saying:

DU: “On the Republican side - if they are up, there’s still not enough ‘passion’ for McCain to get people to go out to vote because they’ll figure ‘hey, he’s up so why bother - not that excited about him anyway’”

DU: “European trip...”

DU: “It is clear that Obama has lost all traction since his overseas trip”

DU: “.... something about this poll does not pass the smell test”

DU: “This is how they steall elections, the try to make us think it’s going to be close, but if McCain is ahead at this point I would say most americans must be brain dead.”

DU: “God dammit Barack, get your VEEP out there NOW!!”

DU: “McCain is winning. Americans are stupid. I’m not surprised by this. Obama MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST win Virginia.”

Daily KOS: nothing yet on the site. (I guess they are still in shock).

Reminds me of that commercial where that guy is on the phone with his surgeon.

And he’s got the knife to his stomach lol.

Obama is a coddled sissy. Americans don’t like coddled sissies. McCain will win in a landslide.

“That hairline difference between nuance and what appears to be flip-flopping is hurting him with liberal voters,” Zogby said.

Lower numbers pre-convention, bigger bounce post-convention.

With Zogby, that's what I suspect, setting up for a phony post-convention "super surge".

Karl Rove keeps saying that Barry should pick Mrs. Clinton for VP because she is the most experienced to be President. Huh?

Just imagine how it’s eating up ol’ Bill. He, who he thinks would win, can’t run because of the Constitutional limit, while that Indonesian Barry is his party’s candidate.

The defensive One over responds every time McCain even slightly attacks him. Now watch him go ballistic and pull out the Chicago politics playbook, which will only appeal to his extreme base. The Dean scream will seem like a whisper.

I don’t think the riots can be avoided. They will either happen at the convention or after the general election. It seems some people just look for a reason to do that cr@p.

Her experience is limited to hiring private investigators to figure out what Bill’s up to.

The truth is that she is experienced at getting walked all over by men stronger than she is.

Putin will play her like a fiddle....(a balalaika?)

He’s not playing well with middle America. I predict he picks Rendell. If he picks Hillary he’ll really look like a wimp.
