Toby Keith, perhaps best known to non-country audiences for his post-Sept. 11 song "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue," says he's a Democrat, and was impressed by the senator from Illinois.

I thought Toby Keith was smarter than that. He certainly didn’t give me the impression that he was a dim. Too bad - he seems like a pretty decent guy otherwise.
I’m a Toby Keith fan and I’m with you. These kind of statements from Keith don’t surprise me. Contrary to popular belief, Keith has always tried to tow the middle when it came to politics.

Maybe he’s been hanging around the Hollyweird types too long. It helps him in pushing his new movie, that’ll go a long way in getting additional work in Tinseltown. It’s all about $$$.
