That is a good point. It would be a big gamble for both of them but for different reasons.
To: TheEaglehasLanded
I think Obama would have to be WAY DOWN in the polls to acquiesce to having Hillary! on his ticket. He likes her less than McCain likes Romney.

I agree. Announcing in Illinois and her presenting a bio-flick at the convention. Why would just a speaker show a bio film?

Well, it would probably wrap the Presidency up for the Dems...
but at least 'El Cid' will be set for his retirement as he goes 'long' on Obama Life Insurance policies...
Of course the Obomber would probably cross me up by hiring a staff of food tasters, and turning Airforce One into 'Turnpike One' (as he just takes it for a spin around the beltway, and never actually goes airborne in his 8 years in the White House)...

I think there's lots of reasons why she wouldn't accept
- If she doesn't accept and Obama and his ilk lose (which they will), Hillary! and the Clitonites will own the Democratic party, and she can run as the anointed one in 2012.
- If she accepts and they lose, she's damaged goods (as you said).
- If she accepts and they win, in eight years she'll be too old to run for President.
- The Clintons are in it to win it. VP is just the first loser.
- Hillary! thinks Obama stole something that was rightfully hers. The Clintons are not the forgiving type. They want him to suffer.
The only reason why she would accept is if she put her party's interest above her own. As if.

Hmmmm, although I still think this is all been done to put Obama in the spotlight for his 15-min of fame, let him hang himself, thereby saving Hillary from the bad PR she had been getting for several months. Then, at the last minute pull the Hill out as a "Hail Mary" play to save the party. The Dem powers-that-be really don't care who they have between these two, truly. That is MHO.
But, hmmm, just maybe they did secretly plan for her to be the VP and wanted the heat to subside a bit. Stranger things have happened. And, with the two of them on the ticket, their party in-fighting might be subdued. I do think that the Obama-Clinton ticket would be a very strong one for them. They might have played a game of ignoring and being somewhat cold to one another just to throw everyone off track. Who knows with these people? Nothing is ever as it appears with the Dems. (And the undercurrent...Hillary and Bill still secretly planning to do away with Obama eventually by some mysterious measure).

Why is picking Hill as his Veep the “smart play”???
I don’t get that at all. I don’t think he wants a woman to castrate him at the office every day, the way he already has one at home to do it first.
He’s a (bigger) fool if he does pick Hill. He is nothing up against the Clintons. He’ll lose all respect and credibility of the Dems who support him, for doing so.
He may pick a woman, but it’s not going to be Hillary. And I don’t think it’s going to be Biden either. I think it will be someone weak and unknown so he can have the spotlight to himself.

Obama’s wife doesn’t like Hillary. I don’t think Hillary wants to play second fiddle to a ex-comunity organizer. Plus she will want to run in 2012 and she will be too old in 2016. If it does happen it will be at the convention after the first vote and neither person has enough votes. Then if Hillary wants to be the VP he won’t have any choice about it.

It makes sense. The Rodham/Clintons already have much of the White House silverware and furniture (nyuk-nyuk-nyuk)
Seriously, however, Marxists just do not co-exist all that well.
You know, the inevitable power struggles and relentless (and often invisible) undermining.
Hillary would eventually see to it that Obama learns his "place"; and, Bill would see to it that he disgraces himself and the position of "second-husband".
The Obamas and Rodham/Clintons would, I'm afraid, get rid of F.R., Rush and all dissenting opinion, in very short order.

Interesting thought... and what great ammunition for McCain to use Hillary's own words to reveal Obama's inexperience and poor judgement.
Personally though I believe he knows that having her in the number two position is like strapping a suicide vest.
'His legacy could end up becoming what he "might have accomplished".
Hillary wants to be president too much to be trusted.
To: TheEaglehasLanded
Would Hillary accept? She’d then have to wait at least 8 years (too old) to be President. If they won in 08, Obama would head the ticket in 2012. If they lose this time around, how on earth does the DNC put her up in 2012?
To: TheWasteLand
I agree 100% with what you said there. And speaking of reason #2. The last Democrat VP on a losing ticket to get their parties nomination was Mondale. I don’t think she wants any part of that.
