Excerpt -
POTI, Georgia -- Russian troops briefly seized control of the economically vital Georgian port of Poti Tuesday morning, a day after Moscow said it had begun pulling its forces out of Georgia. ~ snip ~
The Russians also confiscated five jeeps and an armored Humvee belonging to the U.S. armed forces, according to Alan Middleton, CEO of Poti Sea Port Corp. He said the equipment was used for joint U.S.-Georgian military exercises and was sitting in the Poti container terminal ready to be shipped back to a U.S. base in Europe.
"I suppose the U.S. won't be impressed by losing their equipment," said Mr. Middleton.

I agree. The Western Euros can’t continue to hide behind America’s (tank) skirts. It’s time they step up to the plate and start spending some real money on defense.

I saw this on TV tonight. This shot. All on that tank look rather sober and somber. My heart goes out to the loved ones of the blindfolded. My prayers for a change of heart and soul in the Russian soldiers.
I think of Michael Newheart (?) who refused to wear the military "global patch" swearing adherence to a "global" order.
I think of the horror, when under former President Bill Clinton, there was congressional talk about the ability to order US Troops to fire upon their citizenry.
And then I think about the left: "We support soldiers who kill/shoot their leaders."
And I think again, at the photo you've provided, and I wonder how many and whom of the Russian soldiers wishes they too could live in Georgia; but were not allowed to. And perhaps wished they could have been on the side of fighting for freedom.
In that photo, the honor of Georgia military is portrayed.

Actually, it has been the same for the last several hundred years. Sure, they kissed the ring when there currency was collapsing. US leadership should spend more time reading history. And if we are going to entirely prop up another nation at our expense we had best occupy it with a few hundred thousand “peace keepers”

I agree. The Western Euros cant continue to hide behind Americas (tank) skirts. Its time they step up to the plate and start spending some real money on defense. You know, if we would just shut down the immoral and unconstitutional social programs, there would be more than enough money to build our national defense, and have money left over to give it back to the taxpayers.

Those were our friends, with Iraqi’s we can never be sure, Aghani’s maybe, you can never be sure, but WE KNOW THE GEORGIANS ARE OUR FRIENDS! And we know what the Russians are, and what they want to do to anybody who gets in their way, or has more than they do.

I sure hope we sent them a short note:
Get them back to where you took them from, washed, waxed and full tanks. Signed --- A10, Repoman.

Have you read this:
DEVIL SENT DOWN TO GEORGIA - RUSSIA UNLEASHES CHECHEN THUGS
It's a good analysis, and I concur -- outside his blasting of President Bush; but which I understand from reading Mr. Peters' articles for years; is really serving as a target by which to express the keen, sharp pain Mr. Peters feels for Georgians.
Ralph Peters does know how things work in DC. And why the Georgians got the equipment they got. Just look at all the hoops and garters we all had to go through in the US ==JUST== to get the surge funding for Iraq! Sheez....

Get them back to where you took them from, washed, waxed and full tanks. They don't listen well, however. And they don't seem to follow directions well either.

Russia wages war through terror and intimidation on the population, the weak and effeminate response of the West will only set the stage for a greater conflict down the road. Meanwhile the Georgian people wait for more than a diplomatic response from us. Will we step up, I am not sure. The Russians are playing , knowing how quickly we are distracted by bright shiny objects, one Madonna affair, one George Clooney colon spasm, from the press shelving Georgia to the back section. If this was a fair world ,the remaining Chechen thugs would be hiding 300 miles from the border ,praying to Allah at the top of their lungs in a muddy ditch ,that they never face Avenging Angels again.
