Republicans called for a criminal probe of Senate Minority Leader Malcolm Smith for allegedly threatening lobbyists who fail to contribute to Democratic campaigns. "It borders on criminality," said Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos. "You cannot threaten people to give contributions. That's thuggery. Quid pro quo is a crime - you go to jail." Senate Investigations Committee Chair George Winner said Smith, of Queens, "may have broken several laws - including coercion, official misconduct, attempted bribery and even conspiracy." Smith told a group of lobbyists at a fund-raiser for Senate Democrats in that their clients would be shut out of a possibly Democrat-controlled Senate in January if they didn't pony up large contributions now. Smith refused to discuss his remarks, but late yesterday, he issued a statement claiming his remarks were meant to "entertain" the lobbyists who attended the event.

——Illinois—Illinois-—Illinois——
I'd like to know how a man can father an out-of-wedlock child with his wife.
Golly, I keep on forgetting that.
Hmm. I’ll have to look at this article in a little bit. At first (from the headline) I thought it was about the Democrat who said he’d harass those who’d contributed to the GOP which is also illegal intimidation of voters.
This appears to be another “by any means necessary” election just as the UndemocratIC Party has run for the past umpteen election cycles.
But, But, what about California???
Investigators may be looking at the legal parameters of prosecutable crimes including extortion, collusion, SEC and FEC fraud, IRS fraud and violations of banking laws; coercion, official misconduct, attempted bribery and conspiracy...........and rigging legislation to favor Democrat campaign contributors.
Heh----excellent point.
Authorities should take a very close look at Sen Malcolm Smith (D-Queens) and Sen Jeff Kleins (D-Bronx) US Postal Service mailings, wire transfers, computer transfers, electronic submissions, and unregulated money transfers, and all tax-exempt revenue transfers connected to the Minority Leader's office ........and the timing of the Democrat party's income.
Par for the course when it concerns 'rats. We need an eagle, republicans to stand up to this bogeyman.

Sen Extorter Smith refered to Sen Klein (above) as his "enforcer," who is going to be brutal, aggressive, about collecting big buck contributions for Democrats from business interests.
TWO-FACED KLEIN'S MISSION STATEMENT " In an era where big business is more and more powerful, Jeff Klein has been on the side of consumers. He fought for more accountability in our government. As Senator for the 34th district, Jeff Klein will reform the strangling rules of the Legislature that makes New York's government less and less responsive to ordinary citizens."
