There have been a lot of surveys asking who you would like to have for VP, but I think it's pretty remarkable that we have just about no idea who John Sidney is actually planning on choosing for his VP.
I think that Johnny wakes up everyday and says to the person he confides in, "I want Joe to be VP."
And his adviser says, "You can't do it. You just can't do it."
And John says, "the hell with the base," but he doesn't really mean it, he just means, 'why can't they understand how much I love this guy?'
Because he really loves Joe Lieberman. And I say this as someone who has been supporting McCain for a while now. I think, based on what McCain has expressed about his life experiences, that Joe is the kind of person he would love, because loyalty, fealty, brotherhood-- that love is everything to John McCain. And he feels that Joe is loyal to him, he trusts Joe, and he feels safe having him close by. The fact that Joe has a strong record as a liberal democrat is irrelevant to him in the face of this emotional connection.
Joe has put his career on the line to support the war, and his role in the Senate on the line to campaign on behalf of his friend John McCain. I don't think McCain feels that his political platform is at risk with Joe at his side because McCain would be the president and he would be working to enact his policies, and he envisions Joe continuing to support him as he has been doing.
I think McCain is deeply conflicted about who to have for VP BECAUSE he loves Joe so much and just can't see past that. While he recognizes that there are more pragmatic picks, he doesn't feel the love and trust he feels with Joe.
If it was up to him completely, no repercussions, I think he'd pick Joe.
Joe putting a kippah on John's head at Yad Vashem. Look at the nurturing and the trusting going on here.
Who do you think he will pick?
I don’t know who John will pick, but it looks like Joe is picking lice.

No freekin’ clue.
I hope not. If he picks a complete pro-abortion, far-out liberal like Lieberman, I simply could not vote for the ticket, no matter HOW BAD Obama is.
Lieberman has been pretty good on the war. He has been bad in every other way.
It's been a long, freaky election season. Four years is too many. We need to set some kind of limits on these pollit-cians.
i’m always wrong.
so, i will not try.
That would be awesome. She could take out Ahmedinenutjub with one throw of her round-killing-thing.
I just can’t figure out who he actually would pick because he doesn’t seem connected to anyone else really.
Cinnamon Girl.
Should, anyhow.
I’m going to predict that he picks John Kasich.
I think McCain really wants to be elected President badly enough to fight hard for votes. I know this sounds like a strange statement; but some candidates in the past I have had the impression they didn’t want it bad enough to fight for it- the first President Bush when he ran for re-election comes to mind. Because I am convinced McCain wants it so badly I don’t think he will choose a VP that will cost him votes he has already won or is close to winning. I may turn out to be wrong- we’ll see.
