The Philippine government wants to give the Moro Islamic Liberation Front sovereignty for a homeland in the major southern island of Mindanao.

There was supposed to be a cease fire and peace.

This is the result.

All Mohammad's so called battles were just that, merely sneaky and treacherous raids, not battles at all. So it goes with all his predecessors who incessantly fear they must mechanically bow 5 times a day toward a black stone in Mecca and perpetually war with their neighbors.

All Mohammad's so called battles were just that, merely sneaky and treacherous raids, not battles at all. So it goes with all his predecessors who incessantly fear they must mechanically bow 5 times a day toward a black stone in Mecca and perpetually war with their neighbors.

The Arab way of war is the raid: you hit, do some damage, grab something valuable, and run away to where the enemy cannot find you (into the desert for the Arab, into the mountains for the Afghans, into the jungle for the Moros)

You then keep doing this over and over, hitting while avoiding major battle, until you have worn your enemy down. At that point he either moves away and you take over his territory, or he submits to you, becomes a second-class citizen (dhimmi) who pays his Muslim masters "protection money" (jizya) so they don;t thump him any more

The only solution against the American Indians was for the US Cavalry to go after them relentlessly, track them down, deny them any sanctuary, until they were defeated utterly

The MILF are able to conduct insurgency by being able to hide among the Muslim populace. Finding them then turns into a job of looking for needles in a haystack -- until somebody decides to simply torch the whole haystack
