More on the Cone of Not-So-Silence
ABC News ^ | 8/18/08 | Jack Tapper

Posted on 08/18/2008 12:28:43 PM PDT by mngran2

UPDATE: ABC News' Ron Claiborne, traveling with the McCain campaign, reports that McCain senior adviser Charlie Black would not say whether people around McCain while he was en route to Rick Warren's forum had access to blackberries and cell phones from which they could have tipped off Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., about the questions.

"There's no reason we would do that," was all Black would say, though quite obviously there is a reason.

How is it McCain’s fault that Obama blew it?

Without sugar, of course.

Follow up on Wednesday with ads showcasing the reason why Obama will not meet McCain in the town hall meetings: his stumbling and bumbling when not reading his lines.

Actually, if I were McCain I'd call Obama's bluff. I'd invite Obama to a rematch, but this time with McCain going first. Same format, same place, same questioner...

When will it be announced that Tapper is an official member of the Obamarama campaign staff?

birthday cake?

The Obamas don't celebrate birthdays, not even for their kids, or so Michele told People Magazine.

BTW Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate birthdays, nor does another religion.

Bet you can't guess which one..

His court would be 9 Ruth Bader Ginzburgs. Case closed.

Did he actually say this...I didn't watch...I saw on replay his slam on Thomas but did he actually say this re: Ginzburg?

Their young inexperienced ninny guy

Careful with the "code speak"!

"Ninny guy" could be construed as "racist code" for "pickaninny".

We already know that "inexperienced" is code for a downtrodden, oportunity deprived minority.

As for "young", why, that's just plain agist!

Even if both candidates had seen the questions ahead of time, McCain would still have won. Obama would still have hemmed and hawed at each question. He has no positions he can defend to an audience of Christians. Nuancing won’t help when the content is unattractive. Obama can add all the spices and fancy trimmings in the world, but his message is still fowl.

What they are suggesting?

That in the few minutes before he was on - he heard the questions in the car, then forumluled great answers to those questions and delivered those answered perfectly by memory a few minutes later?

"There's no reason we would do that,"

If you are concerned then here is my challenge to you. Do not compare Obama’s answers to McCains. Pretend that McCain was not even there Saturday night.

Just listen to Obama's responses to the questions. Start with question number one and take each question in turn concentrating only on Obama's responses.

Any takers?

What the left can’t stomach is the side by side comparison resulting from the Rick Warren Forum.

The chasm separating the two candidates is so huge.

Notwithstanding the fact that the “One” did so poorly.

I believe the expression is "wrinkly, white-haired dude."

I'm old enough to refer to McCain as "Sonny". "Old Fart" is the correct expression for both of us.

Questioning McCain's Integrity is going to be a major mistake by the left.

Uh, you have to have integrity to have it to have it questioned. McCain has done nothing but try to institute socialism and is no friend of the United States. He is pro-terrorism (hell he authored amnesty and the open borders), anti-capitalsim, and pro-illegal. His voting record is all you need to see this.

Hussein is just as bad... We have no choices as conservatives with principles this go around.

Hopefully the GOP will receive the message they missed in 2006 this time. Further movement to the middle will ensure the end of the GOP as a player in anything.

Tapper is the POS who accused McCain of raising the possibility that Obama is the anti-Christ.
Don’t flatter yourself, Bami-boy, the AC will be much higher pay-grade than you.

Here it seems we’re hearing more stories about how the process of the Rick Warren meetings somehow was unfair to Obama, rather than hearing more about the content of what Obama said.

A pattern seems to be emerging of Obama reacting to McCain and events. It does obfuscate his message, but IMHO he's making a big mistake. A pol should stay on message and on the attack. Constantly playing defense makes him look weak and whiny.

As long as you don't consider their voting record and they're stances on everything, you're right. Don't be fooled by McStupid's suddenly "found" conservatism. He's as much of a pro-terrorism (pro-illegal, open border supporter), pro-socialist(anti-capitalist, "punish the corporations), anti-American (uh, Campaign Finance Reform)as Hussein is.

He is not an acceptable conservative candidate. The GOP is going to get their butt handed to them again because of moving to the middle.
