With five seats on the State Board of Education up for grabs this year, education advocates say how children learn about evolution hangs in the balance -- and who voters choose could affect Kansas' national reputation.
A frequent flip-flop between moderate and conservative majorities on the 10-member board has resulted in the state changing its science standards four times in the past eight years.
Conservatives have pushed for standards casting doubt on evolution, and moderates have said intelligent design does not belong in the science classroom.
In 2007, a new 6-4 moderate majority removed standards that called evolution into question.
This year, none of the three moderates whose seats are up for election are running again. Only one of the two conservative incumbents is running for re-election...

Give me a link to a court case. I’m not going to dig through several thousand hits of documents that happen to contain those three words. I’m familiar with the tactic of trying to bury your opponent in thousands of pages of unrelated bullshit.

I figured on such a response.
I got 2,450,000 hits.
Interestingly, I contended for your next tactic.
If one looks at the bottom, there’s specific links...for ONLY lawsuits related to ID.
And once you filter that...you’ll get 860,000 hits.
Now, if you can’t find one case in 860,000 instances right in front of you (not to mention all the previous hand-holding)...
then you’ll need a psychiatrist, I’m just a hospice nurse.
Perhaps you can get help with your denial first and unfounded god-anger fears later.
Ah. Now if I believe the theory of evolution I hate God. It just keeps getting better and better. Do I hate God if I believe the Earth is over 6,000 years old?
It’s not about your belief in evolution, it’s all about your unAmerican belief in censorship.
You’re not being censored, unless you think my not wanting to pay you and your creationist friends for textbooks that teach my kids that if they don’t believe the creation doctrine of your church they hate God is censorship.
You obviously can't find one, why should I go look for it?
Perhaps you could give us a link to any textbook that states that if someone doesn't believe in creation that they hate God.
I'd be really interested in seeing that.
Of course creationists are being censored. The atheists are using litigation to keep any mention of anything besides hardline evo out of the schools. Heck, schools can't even put a sticker on a book that states that the ToE is a theory without being silenced.
That's censorship.
Tpanther says she want to teach my kids a "Christian worldview", like she has. She says I hate God because I don't believe in the literal account of Creation from the Book of Genesis. This is what she wants to teach my kids.
I can’t babysit you, I’ve done enough for you already as it is.
Again, I’m a hospice nurse, so unless you’re dying...
careful....you might get into post after post about “proving stickers” on such books, Cobb County Georgia, very familiar with it by the way!
WELL said!
Not that it has any hope of penetrating the impenetrable. :)
All you’ve done is accuse, evade and obfuscate. You can quit any time.
Good luck with your denial, projections and anger!
You get answered in kind.
Is there a Kansas ping list?
