Comparing McCain’s life experiences with Obammie’s life experiences is totally moronic. Obammie has been coddled all his life and spent his life riding America’s free gravy train. He didn’t fly jets in Vietnam and then spend 6 years being beaten and tortured by a bunch of flaming, Commie a———s. Saddleback? This sounds more like Brokeback.

What else will the Democrats do? They have to make Obama look good, so will the rest have affairs and beat their children?

Oh yeah, Larry the Liar, the truckdriver rumours and all.

It’s funny when the Left tries to promote “family values” - they need to know their subject first. They used to say the same thing about the Breck Girl -how brave he was and what a family man he was. Until last week.

. . .and these Pastor's assume. . .BHO's 'Black Liberation' brand of Christianity resembles their Christianity?

Really, I don't get it. . .

Don't get either; how if Rick Warren is - from what I understand - asking same questions of both McCain and Obama; how fair and enlightening can their meeting be; given Obama will never be asked about Liberation Theology - and what it means to him. . .having been so 'informed' by this Faith, for so many years at his home church, Trintiy United Church of Christ.

Seems the truth of Obama, for these Liberal Pastors; is out to lunch and not coming back anytime soon.

...a family friend of George W. Bush.... Caldwell has endorsed Obama. McCain is never mentioned in the ad, but at one point, Caldwell says, "Throughout his entire career, Sen. Obama has stood by familes." Caldwell's wife, Suzette, seated next to him, responds: "Including his own." Caldwell nods, smiles, and says, "Hmmmm."

I see the Bushes continue to select their family friends with care and discretion. A quote from Billyboy Clinton, Bar and Poppy's "other son" will probably be next.

Well, Barry’s marriage (1992) may have suffered some sort of “7 Year Itch” (1999) which may have included a limo, a gay dude, and some coke. Was that a smear, or just another quirky or exotic vignette on Barry’s historic march to the White House? Pardon me while I puke.

Come on guys, let’s be fair.

BHO may not be able to claim any “qualifications”, or legitimate “accomplishments”, but which is closer to being an accomplishment:

- being married to Cindy?
- being married to Marxelle?

Come on guys, that’s putting up with a lot...

How Christian of him.
I’m sure he stood by Bill Clinton.
As he will stand by Larry and Barry.

Matthew 25 Network is a newly formed national Political Action Committee (PAC) being spearheaded by Mara Vanderslice, who was director of religious outreach for the Kerry-Edwards campaign in 2004

Mara Vanderslice, who formerly worked as religion outreach director for Democrat Howard Dean, was raised without any faith and didn’t become an evangelical Christian until she attended Earlham College, a Quaker school known for its
adherence to pacifism

“Vanderslice spoke at rallies organized by ACT-UP, an anti-Catholic group that disrupted Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in 1989 and spit the Eucharist on the floor.”

Mr. McCurry said the advantage of forming an outside group, which functions independently of the campaign, is the separation allows them to tailor their outreach to evangelicals specifically

Ms. Vanderslice and her business partner, Eric Sapp, pushed sometimes reluctant Democrats to speak publicly, early and in detail about the religious underpinnings of their policy views. They persuaded candidates to speak at conservative religious schools and to buy early commercials on Christian radio. They organized meetings and conference calls for candidates to speak privately with moderate and conservative members of the clergy.

In an interview, she said she told candidates not to use the phrase “separation of church and state,” which does not appear in the Constitution’s clauses forbidding the establishment or protecting the exercise of religion.

she still struggles with common evangelical ideas about abortion, homosexuality and the literal reading of Scripture.

She was baptized by full immersion in Rock Creek in Washington, D.C., while working with Sojourners, an evangelical antipoverty group. She entered politics by working with a group advocating debt relief for the developing world, once participating in a rally organized by a coalition that included the AIDS activist group Act Up.

‘Common Good Strategies’ Featured In ‘Atlantic Monthly’ Piece

February 8, 2007 – Mara Vanderslice’s leftist public relations firm has recently benefited from a piece on it by Hanna Rosin in the January/February 2007 Atlantic Monthly.

Last week, TVC exposed the far left background of Vanderslice and her effort to help Democrats use “God talk” in their campaign speeches.

The article notes that Vanderslice worked with seven candidates and all seven won their elections in 2006

The Atlantic Monthly article reveals even more about Vanderslice’s strategies to encourage Democrats to use deceitful words in discussing such topics as abortion. According to Rosin, Vanderslice helped candidates “create a new language to use in talking about faith and values, aimed in part at neutralizing hot-button issues.”

Vanderslice and her staffers “banned the word choice and pushed reduction, going one step further with Clinton’s idea that abortion should be ‘safe, legal, and rare.’”
“When anti-gay-marriage amendments came up, for example, they expanded the issue and talked about how many marriages were disintegrating because of financial stress, which they name as the No. 1 cause of divorce in America,” said Rosin.

Vanderslice advised her candidates to talk about serving others; promoting the common good; protecting the environment as God’s creation, and alleviating poverty.
Vanderslice says she learned about the importance of religion in the public square because “she grew up in Colorado, in the shadow of what she calls the ‘hateful rhetoric’ of the religious right.” (Colorado Springs is the home of hundreds of Christian ministries.)

Vanderslice grew up in Boulder, a hotbed of leftist activity. She was a member of the Earlham Socialist Alliance in college.)

Vanderslice worked as an intern for Jim Wallis’ Sojourners organization shortly after leaving college. Wallis was apparently an effective mentor for her – and her organization is getting free publicity through liberal publications and media outlets.

TVC’s report on Jim Wallis reveals his leftist agenda.

http://www.traditionalvalues.org/pdf_files/jim_wallis.pdf

Wallis is also a darling of
the liberal media. He is often
quoted in articles critical of
conservative Christians or of
President Bush’s faith.

For example, in October
2004, Wallis published a commentary in his magazine,
Sojourners, claiming that the “The Religious
Right Era Is Over.”

While Wallis was in seminary, he founded an anticapitalist
magazine called Post-American. In it, Wallis
called for the redistribution of wealth and governmentmanaged
economies. This anti-capitalist worldview is
expressed in religious terms as a quest for “social justice.”
In 1971, Wallis moved his Post-American operation to
Washington, DC and renamed it Sojourners.

During the 2006 elections, Common Good Strategies recruited liberal pastors to write editorials for her candidate clients and encouraged candidates to purchase ads on Christian radio stations.

In Michigan, Common Good met with more than 500 conservative to moderate ministers to convince them to support Democrat candidates.

“Christian voters must be alert to the deceitful tactics being used by Vanderslice to create candidates who appear to be committed ‘Christians’ but who are actually wolves in sheep’s clothing,” said TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “Vanderslice is urging candidates to use manipulative wording to fool Christians into voting for them. Once in office they will impose a liberal agenda on us.”

When did McCain admit that? I guess this is aimed towards the author in the liberal Dallas paper, but if you know, please jump in. ;)

No one but the people directly involved in John McCain's first marriage know what really happened. And I'm sure (being divorced myself) that his ex-wife might give a different explanation from his. But the point is, he was captured and tortured by the North Vietnamese and when he came home, he was NOT the same man physically, mentally or emotionally as he had been when he kissed his wife and went to war.

At the same time, the First Mrs. McCain was alone all those years growing distant from the memories of the fighter pilot she kissed goodbye. Her role in her family changed. She changed.

This does not in any way excuse John McCain or his first wife, either, for the way they treated each other when he got back from 'Nam. They were two totally different people who no longer had much in common.

I'm guessing here, so stay with me: She didn't like him acting like a husband and telling her how to do things or putting limits on her activities so she could be with him. He'd been gone a long time and she had developed her own social network and it didn't include him. She couldn't go back to "newly wed" with this man she really no longer knew. He needed more than she could or was willing to give and he needed someone to understand the stress he'd been subjected to in 'Nam. She was not the girl he married. He was not the boy she married. They were two people sharing the same last name and living in the same house. They were no longer a "couple."

Doesn't give him a right to go find someone who'd listen to him and understand him. But he did. And that is all water under the bridge. It's over. There's no going back. I have heard or read people's comments about him, mostly negative, but those people weren't there with the First Mrs. McCain helping her to remain the same person all those years John McCain was gone, were they? No, they had their lives to live. Well so did she. And when John McCain came back from 'Nam, like so many military men, the first marriage was already so changed that he couldn't fit the role his First Wife wanted and she could not fit the role he needed.

I wasn't there, you weren't there, so let's forgive the man his humanity and his First Wife her humanity and allow John McCain to be the man he is and our Candidate for POTUS.
