It could also be that he hates him because Thomas is a conservative justice on the Supreme Court. He knows that Thomas will not rule on the side of Choice. And in his mind, if Obama was president, such a ruling would be seen as Thomas facing the first black president and telling him “NO”. Having risen to the Oval Office, Obama will believe that he has all of black America sitting in the palm of his hand... all except for maybe that man on the Supreme Court.
He would never want to see Thomas as his equal.
A black conservative justice on the Supreme Court trumps a black liberal man in the Oval Office... because Thomas is not just a black man. He represents more than that.
