I'd like everyone to know that Cajungirl is in a potentially life-threatening crisis/illness.
She is a dear friend to me and others here know her by her humor and impressive writing. (We met during the hilarious Runaway Bride debacle, and C.G. gave us some hilarious instruction about Southern Culture and weddings and flatware!)
Few here know, and she never tells about herself, but she is a very accomplished woman in the healing profession. She has spent her life doing good works. She loves life, her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. Recently she partially retired and she and her husband have had plans to travel over-seas.
With a faith that is as strong as conviction, I ask you all to include her and her family in special prayers, because I know it will help.
This has come upon us all so suddenly. I am not only praying for her life. I pray that she be comforted by The Comforter , Himself. So be it, Amen.
Thank you all very much.
Praise God for all He has done and answered prayer! May your pain be gone, appetite returned, and misery replaced with increased faith. Your crankiness is a NEW condition? LOL Just kidding cajungirl, it takes a little feistiness to make it through serious illness.
PS Since you won’t have a cast may we sign your shiny head? :) Take care and we are with you.
I see your sense of humor is intact! God Bless and hang in there, cajungirl. We're all praying for you.

Good to hear all this. I got a little piece of text that always pull me thru. Hope it helps somewhat.
And when you think you’ve hit the wall, go a little bit farther
When think you’ll lose it all, dream a little bit harder
And when you think you’ve gone too far, go a little bit farther
When you’re about to lose it all, hold on, hold on, hold on
Our tears, our fears, are inescapable
But the hope that we hold is what keeps us alive
When you are standing at the edge of live and die
Just repeat these words that thunder through the sky
I am unbreakable
My faith’s unshakable
I am unbreakable
Am so very sorry to hear that ‘all is not well’ with Cajungirl. Prayers sent for her and for all who sharing in her difficulties. May God’s Grace bring a healthy unfolding here for Cajungirl.

You get better soon!
Prayers for your quick recovery and speedy return. Prayers for your family, your doctors, your nurses, and those who support and help you.
My dearest friend completed chemo after radiation about 2 years ago. She never got sick, though she felt bad sometimes. She lost all of her hair, but it grew back thicker and prettier than ever. She is doing very well now.
My hopes and prayers are that you have a similar outcome. Writing this makes me think of a verse I found when she was first diagnosed:
~~~
What Cancer Cannot Do
Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit.
~~~
This is true of all illnesses - they cannot take away who we are or what we mean to our loved ones.
Know that there are many people praying for your recovery!
Please post your replies to cajungirl
Please know that I am continuing to pray. May God provide healing and comfort as needed.
Blessings,
trussell
If you want on/off my prayer ping list, please let me know. All requests happily honored.
Bald is beautiful my FRiend, best wishes to you.
Praying in Jesus’ Name for health and long life for you ... He is the Great Physician and can bring healing as He wills. Praying too for less misery and pain, better appetite, and joy and peace in your heart!
Keeping you in prayer.
cj, may you continue to draw closer to your Lord and Comforter in this time of trial. There comes a time in every life when one has to walk through the dark valley. Just never forget that you are not alone. I pray that the Lord will let you feel more and more each day that He is closer than your heartbeat and understands what you are going through. May you find the right diet and medicine to stop the spread of the disease. In Jesus mighty name. Amen
Thanks for keeping us posted and prayers continue for you. LOL re your husband comment.
Just checking in. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers, cajungirl :)
A prayer said for you tonight. Feel better and heal up!!!

Not two weeks after her surgery, Cajungirl had to hold fast when Gustav came ashore. I believe this invigorated her, but then Gustav's powerful right had to land somewhere, didn't it, and Huey Long City got it on the chin, dont' you know...
She and how many hundreds of thousands of people have been without electricity ever since. Doctors' appointments were canceled or missed, due to the impossibility of travel or the the clinics' windows needing replacement. The airport was closed until yesterday I believe.
She and her husband have remained all this time and I understand the main staple of diet was peanut butter.
As you know from her post at #268, faith from this thread helped buoy her (and her family's) spirits tremendously.
Finally yesterday I learned that they have made their escape. She's had turkey and dressing and I've never known anyone to declare such a dish a cure-all but she praised it as such.
They are making their way now to one of their daughters', and plan a route Northeast.
The good news is that she has turned a corner and I've never heard her sounding so positive and upbeat. She will have a second opinion at another first rate medical center about her chemo options. Chemo starts in a week or two so, again, prayers are needed for C.G.'s continued strength, faith, comfort and recovery.
Thank you all again. We honestly believe your prayers and your great faith have been transformative and it occurs to us that others reading this thread may have learned of the efficacy of prayer as well. (Also the thread has given useful information on signs and symptoms of Ovarian cancer).
