"Swift boat" author turns to Obama with bestseller
Reuters ^ | 8/15/08 | Michelle Nichols

The author who put Democratic Sen. John Kerry on the defensive over his military record during his 2004 presidential run has turned his attention to 2008 White House hopeful Barack Obama with a new bestseller.

In "The Obama Nation," which Corsi says is a play on the word abomination, the author questions whether Obama could still be using marijuana and cocaine and insinuates Obama is Muslim despite the candidate's insistence he is a Christian....

Corsi told Reuters "The Obama Nation" is his bid to stop the Democratic senator from winning the White House on November 4. But he insists he does not support Republican candidate U.S. Sen. John McCain and instead backs the Constitution Party...

Britain's The Independent newspaper said the book "smells like a Republican hit job," while the Washington Post said it "is rife with inaccuracies and innuendo...."

Brian Darling, director of Senate Relations at Washington conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation, said Corsi's book serves an important role in helping educate the American people about Obama. "It will spur debate and I think Sen. Obama should get used to a very critical examination of his history and his tenure in the (U.S.) Senate ...

Media Matters, a nonprofit Web site run by former conservative journalist David Brock, has deemed Corsi's book "unfit for publication."

The New York Times has pointed out on its bestseller list that "The Obama Nation" has been a popular bulk buy. Some Obama defenders have questioned whether conservative groups bought it in bulk to inflate sales -- a claim Corsi denies

You can really see the Ph.D. in Corsi as you read the book. There is one section where he considers whether Bambi got inspiration for sections he made up in his books from a black philosopher named Fanon. Corsi shows some striking similarities in their writings. Nothing that you would call plagiarism, but similar thoughts expressed with different wording.

It is a thoughtful and scholarly exercise, not some wild-eyed liar going off the deep end. In the final analysis, Corsi lets the reader decide for himself.

Another big problem for the Bambi campaign is that the book is heavily sourced to their wholly owned subsidiary: the MSM.

I just ordered my autographed copy from World Net Daily for $24.95.

Right now Amazon has it for 15.40. That plus shipping and tax, I ended up paying $20.61

The MSM is now run by white-hating minorities. Of course, they’ll villify Corsi. Corsi will be on the political cesspool radio show this weekend- which is just about the only place you can get real news these days.

I think she’s going for VP so that she can then bring forth the forged birth certificate and sweep him out the door with her witches broomstick.

“...Like how in the world did Obama ever make it this far.” I have to distract myself from politics these days to keep my disbelief from turning into despair, even though despair seems wholly warranted. Obama, McCain... geez..., this is the USA. Can’t we do better than this? Apparently not. I said I’m not going to spend the campaign season attacking McCain, and I’m not, so attacking Obama is twice as much fun, but it is pointless. How can anything mean anything in a nation that would even consider this creepy clown for president? ...See what I mean? I’m going to order Corsi’s book to distract myself, whatever it takes to get through this.

“Media Matters, a nonprofit Web site run by former
conservative journalist David Brock”

Gotta love this quote. An attempt to give Media Matters crediabilty by saying it was a nonprofit, former conservative website, when its a partisan liberal website

No doubt a website the media reporters visit often for their sources

The article also used 3 left wing quotes denouncing the book while only using 1 right wing quotes that praises the book. Fair and Balance as always

Corsi is too shrewd for them, so; they will try all means to attack him.

I just read Unfit for Publication. What on earth are they thinking?

Do they really believe pouring 40 pages of high octane leaded gasoline on Corsi’s book is strategically wise?

Apparently, they believe that their inaction after the Swifties gave JFK a black eye significantly contributed to his defeat in ‘04—So THIS time they will ride out with guns a blazin’, and a rootin’ and a tootin’.

LOL...

They have convinced themselves that Jean-Fraude Kerry lost in ‘04 because he didn’t respond quickly enough to the charges in Unfit for Command.

This is insane. Jean-Fraude lost because the charges in Unfit for Command were true.

That’s why they’re doin what they’re doing IMHO. I think they will live to regret it.

“Surely they realize that by doing this, they basically promote the book?”

They feel Kerry lost for lack of a response.
