EMAIL FROM TBILISI
my email ^ | august 15th, 2008 | my friend in tbilisi

Posted on 08/15/2008 11:32:27 AM PDT by MarMema

My dear friend,

I hope God will bless Georgia and all People who lives there - Georgians and other nations.

We are tired to live under Russia's pressure. They didn't change. Their mentality still is communist, fascist mentality. They didn't change even the hymn - it is the same as it was in Soviet Union.

Georgia is the part of Europe. We have the right to live like all other Europe ( not Russia) lives.

It is strange, that all other world can't press Russia to move back. It seems, that Russia is more stronger, that all civilized world?

Today it is my country. Tomorrow on Georgia's place will be the other country. The day after tomorrow will be only one big country - Russia. So Russia must be stopped today.

Thank you for your care and Love I love you too. Please ask for your friends to prey for my country.

I am afraid of future. I am afraid even of tomorrow. I think, they will change all my country again and I DON"T WANT to live again in communist country. I am human, educated human!

It is so simple. Why no one country or all of them together can't do anything? Or it is the big game and America just "lost" Georgia to Russia?

I am tired and have no desire to return back in the past. That was terrible. Georgians DESERVE the better future. I know, that you believe and wish us the better future.

But Russian tanks are everywhere, they divide Georgia into two parts. My father is in West Georgia and we are here. It is not normal. I'd like to hope, my son will live in better Georgia. Please, pray for us.

You would think that Europe would want to continue having a Pro-western government controlling the pipeline that brings them oil. I am perplexed by their fear.

“.......Now that we can get emails..can they get on Freepr???.......”

I don’t no. I haven’t heard from my friend since early yesterday AM. I will send her a link to FReepr and ask her to sign up.

There are a couple of FReepers here who have close ties to Georgia. Maybe they can spread the word about Free Republic among their family and friends

Fear is the default human mode. Always easier to avoid a fight. Always easier to pretend there is no problem. Rising to a challenge, facing it head-on, drawing a line in the sand past which you will not move - these take courage and clarity.

So I sent the link for this thread to my friend in Tbilisi and she asked me to post this reply to you

"My reply to him/her -
After Russia's aggression Georgians stood and are standing together. President of Georgia, Mr. Saakashvili has NO opposition now.
Please, be careful to use words like "coward" when you speak about the president, who is elected by the people. And one more: write to all that Georgians, who are ashamed of their president what you wrote and then PLEASE, write me their reaction.
I am sure, it will be the good lesson for you."

And she asked me also to post this reply to you here-

"Madam/Sir
You simply are not familiar in the history of Georgia. Yes, you know, that Stalin was Georgian, but you don't know, that he did nothing good for Georgia - even on the contrary.
The term - South Ossetia was Soviet term. Communists use it after occupation Georgia by Russia. Before this place was called Samachablo. Abkhazia was and is Abkhazia. The real Abkhazians are Georgians. My Father is from Lechkumi. It is in West Georgia. People from that place are Georgians. My mother is from Kakheti. It is place in East Georgia. People from that place are Georgians. In Georgia there are Racha, Svaneti, Samtske-Javakheti. Kartli, Qvemo qartli ( it includes S.Ossetia as well), Imereti...All these places are the parts of Georgia. People there are Georgians. It is very simple. There are 50 state in US. Texas, New Mexico, New York and etc... All of them are parts of US. Now it is clear? Was better to keep the silence, my dear."

Me too, I am going to ask my friend to sign up as well. Let's get some Georgians on here!!

BTW TO ALL, another friend of mine in Tbilisi just sent me an email with this in it -

"Just heard in news that russians blew sky high the railway near Kaspi wich is 1 hours and half drive from Tbilisi, disconecting the east and west georgia"

Ominous stuff. I just wonder....you don't think Putin would try to split Georgia because we participated in split of Serbia, do you?

I know very few who are ashamed of him. To the contrary, the scenes in Tiblisi with hundreds of thosuands turning out in support of the President and to hear him speak while the Russians were still attacking, indicate that he has the vast majority of Georgians behind him.

And well he should

As to "starting" a war by Georgia, that is pure rubbish.

The latest fighting started oin August 1st when the seperatists began shelling a Gerogian villatge. Georgia responded and there was heavy fighting through August 6th. Then, on August 7th, a cease fire was signed, but later that day, another Georgian village was shelled and the Georgian Army, instructed to do so by their President, then moved into the province and took the capital.

That is when Russia invaded. And they invaded with such force on the 8th and then opened another front on the 9th with amphibious landings that it is obvious to anyone who knows anything about military logistics that the Russians had been prepared and waiting to invade. You do not put together those kinds of forces in a few hours or a few days...the plan was probably set in motion weeks before.

This makes it clear that the Russians most probably instigated the attacks on Georgia and provoked the Georgians to respond so they would have the pretext for invasion.

The Georgian President was elected by the Georgians and I will wager you that in the next election he will win by a landslide becaus e he stood up to the Russain Bear and their proxies in his own country.

Marmema, please forward this to your friends there in Georgia so they will know that there are many Americans who know exactly what happened and are supporting them...including our current President, and the next one, John McCain.

Reports: Tbilisi Capital of Georgia under ‘attack’

I do not know if this is accurate. The site may be all propaganda.

Be careful where you post this on FR. The internet commando gang is out in full force. They’re demanding carpet bombs and some are even requesting nukes. Tell them that this is crazy talk and you’re going to be called a commie, a traitor, a coward, or anything else their malformed brains can spout out.

I heard someone on CNN, I can’t remember who ,I heard it as I was passing by the TV, actually call into question Mr. Saakashvili’s courage because he had bodyguards(?) and went back to his HQ(During a statement) because of Russian planes approaching. I wish I could find out what idiot said that.

“How do you send in “peacekeeprs’ into a sovereign nation”.

You might ask Clinton, Bush, et al., how indeed. That is exactly what they did in Serbia's province of Kosovo.

Fox news continues to talk on and on about the Georgian invasion of Ossetia. This week one of Fox news blonde bimbos referred to Georgia as a Russian province.

What happenened in Kosovo is a tragedy and I was very upset by it. Three of my children were baptized by a Serbian priest, whom I love to this day very much.

Using that to justify what the Russians have done to the poor, elderly, third world villagers in Georgia is the most incredibly stupid logic.

So by your logic, an ally of Japan should now bomb us as we did Hiroshima, and the Germans should come and carpet bomb us as well.

By my logic, the Russians are acting as cowardly bullies in this action. They are mad at us, dropping bombs with "For Bush" and "For USA" on them. But they attack and torture innocent Georgians who cannot defend themselves. My children know better than to behave this way. It is sad to see posters here on FR who don't seem to be as mature.

YES!

Ask your Georgian friends to sign up, and set the record straight!

"...you don't think Putin would try to split Georgia because we participated in split of Serbia, do you?"

I absolutely DO think he's ticked off at Clinton's error.
