A top Russian general said Friday that Poland's agreement to accept a US missile defense battery exposes the country to attack, pointing out that Russian military doctrine permits the use of nuclear weapons in such a situation, the Interfax news agency reported. *** Interfax said he added, in clear reference to the agreement, that Russia's military doctrine sanctions the use of nuclear weapons "against the allies of countries having nuclear weapons if they in some way help them." Nogovitsyn said that would include elements of strategic deterrence systems, according to Interfax.

Do you think you’re calling me out or something? The details of my life are none of your business and just as importantly, aren’t relevant at all to what I’ve said.
I have never said that the only people who should be able to hold an opinion about military action should be in the military.
My whole point is that it’s very easy to be an internet commando and to call for war, when any rational person would take a more rational and realistic approach.
When people say, “we” or “let’s” in these contexts, they almost always mean someone else, not themselves.
Only a complete D bag would take issue with what I’ve said. There appear to be a good number of FR these days, which is sad. You will have to decide if you fit the category or not. Either way, I’m done with you.
He didn’t serve. He’s a dumbass liar pretending to have served.
Plus they hate Putin after he tried to shut the gas off a few years ago.
You are an embarassing old coot.
And you’re a dumbass who has admitted he hasn’t. (but, I guess a cousin in the Navy doing your dirty work is your pass).
Such valor!!!
You get a pass because you're clearly still a kid.
They ain't Patriots. They'll be the new strategic missile interceptors. That's a serious reaction to a serious risk.
Obviously, it's not designed as a provocation -- but the Russians are choosing to take it that way.
The Russkies are the ones who are bluffing and blustering. Accordingly, it would not be wise to back down. That would only lead to another confrontation down the road.
Don't be afraid. You don't win these "whose is the biggest" contests by keeping your pants zipped. And, if you're not willing to play the game, you'll lose -- in both the short and long-run.
Don't pontificate, think. The stakes are to hight to play around with this.
I did think. And I based my assessment on practical knowledge of U.S.-Russian relationships over the past 50 or 60 years.
Your belief that "the stakes are too high to play around with this" is exactly right...but not in the way you think.
I’m neither embarrassing nor old... but keep digging, bosco. You’re revealing more about yourself with every post.
That is what matters, not what the stated use of the system is.
I agree. I think Bush has pulled some boners. The Kosovo/Bosnia deal for one. And then why we don't let the Europeans take care of their own self-defense needs is beyond me. We are antagonizing a country that we would be better suited to be partners with.
*chuckle*
Don't thank me, unlike you I haven't done anything for our country that I should be thanked for.
However, if your home page is true, and I have no reason to think otherwise, you have done and are doing much more than just "anything" for our nation's security. Having said that, I want to thank you here and now for your personal contribution to our nation's security, and by extension to the security of me and my family.
It will only go nuclear if we were to actually invade Russia itself. If we fight the Russian in Georgia then Russia will have to ask themselves the same question: Will they go to nuclear war over Georgia? The answer is no.
I certainly did. Thanks for filling it in.
And neither have you. You nothing but a LIAR sock puppet for Move On.org you angry liberal.
nuff sed!
