Russian General Threatens Poland with Attack over US deal
Jerusalem Post ^ | 15 Aug 2008 | Associated Press

Posted on 08/15/2008 6:40:42 AM PDT by docbnj

A top Russian general said Friday that Poland's agreement to accept a US missile defense battery exposes the country to attack, pointing out that Russian military doctrine permits the use of nuclear weapons in such a situation, the Interfax news agency reported. *** Interfax said he added, in clear reference to the agreement, that Russia's military doctrine sanctions the use of nuclear weapons "against the allies of countries having nuclear weapons if they in some way help them." Nogovitsyn said that would include elements of strategic deterrence systems, according to Interfax.

It seems apparent to me that the Soviets are counting on NoBama to become POTUS.

Gee, now that's a revelation of thought. /s

You are correct. And the Russians made moves on assisting Iran to build nuclear weapons that crossed the line. There strategy of puppeting a suicide regime with obvious intent was in 2004-2005. Fuel rods rejected for non-payment my *ss!

//What the defensive missiles do is change the Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD) balance.//

It totally alters MAD, because they know our screen/s works.

He is correct but I didn’t need to see this in 2000, I study history and that always included cultural norms. A ‘collapse’ of a name of a nation’s government from the USSR means very little for such an old culture. It’s in the genes, they get paranoid, create justifications in there minds for betrayal of trust then attack. Shut them the hell out of every trade agreement globally and use covert opps to say hello to there oil business.

Well put. And this Democratic Underground you mention now has control over the House and permeates Israel’s general thinking as well, no? It is going to be a tough fight to remove the enemy within and then fight the monster outside. Best of luck to you sir. America and Israel stand together through the end of this age.

The Russian media was putting that out rather early on that the US orchestrated the conflict. I dont think even to many Russian’s bought into it though.

Those were for SRAM’s IIRC.

WE might have a replacement for the SRAM, but I do not know.

>Bring it.

Settle down junior. This isn’t a band of ragheads with machine guns. This is a nation with strategic nuclear weapons and the ability to deliver them within our borders.

I heard a news commentator the other day say that Bush had warned Georgia not to antagonize Russia and that the invasion is a result of Georgia ignoring Bush’s warning.

Can anyone explain this comment and/or why it was said. What did Georgia do to instigate? I’m trying to follow all that is happening, but don’t know the history...help me learn/understand. Thanks.

Yes, I liken to your mindset however IMO Dubya' understands and has a mindset that supports freedom and also totes unequivocal devotion to the Constitution.

Excellent plan. Will the House controlled Democrats approve? Probably not. We had better deal with them first. If they control Washington (even McCain as President and House contolled Dems) then it may be necessary for the American people to step up in non-violent yet specific ways that send a message.

Call up Reserves and send them to Iraq. Use combat hardened Marines who are in transition in the US to invade Cuba.

This is nothing more than Russia feeling her oats after kicking around Georgia.......Reality is Russia is still nothing more than a regional power......And she will feel the squeeze in the months ahead (what is left of the GWB Admin.....and further still if McCain wins in Nov....Which he should).....

And this will bring the Bear back down to reality.

While what is happening in Georgia is deadly serious......the MSM and many "think-tank" types are going over board in their assessments of the power of the Bear...

I heard a news commentator the other day say...

Are you actively seeking a loss of credibility or is your post just a misstep. /snicker

Oh, I probably lost all credibility among certain folks a long time ago ;)

I’m sincerely wanting to understand, but can’t remember the name of the “news commentator”, hence the label. I’m guessing it had to be someone on Fox News.

I hear you.

Dubya and Pooty know each other well, so there is a lot less chance of miscalculation.

If nobama gets in, he will be in way over his head and likely to have found himself painted into a corner and then he gave all of his cards away except the nuclear option.

"The first thing I thought when I heard those idiots had a massed convoy of 100 vehicles heading down a single road to Tbilisi was what a few A-10s would make it look like."

Even better -- when the Russians eventually pull back to South Ossetia to head home and line up to go thru the Ossetia tunnel, Georgia conveniently 'seals' the tunnel opening, and you've got a 5-mile-long two-abreast clambake of some of Pootie's finest armor.

History rhymes. When weak kneed politicans go and tell our enemies we want to capitulate they take this that the US is weak and on our knees. When our foreign policy is ‘with us or against us’ one day and the next Condi is heading overseas equating the civil rights movement in Alabama to the Palestinian cause, it demonstrates the splintered cabinet of the Administrative branch and confusion. It scares our allies as well. When utopian Washington politicians refuse to tap our own energy resources citing polar bears, knats, toads and birds as a mask for enviro-greed-legisate-into-your-own-pocket greed and ruin the economy, our enemies notice. So it is not surprising at all our enemies are now pulling off there masks and beginning to make moves. Like prior history, the left will act like the traitors they always do and it will take years to get them out of office as a majority. Our enemies know that too.
