BILL O'REILLY, HOST: In the "Factor Follow-up" segment tonight: Last week, actor Jon Voight wrote an op-ed in The Washington Times saying that he did not trust Barack Obama on terrorism issues, among other things.
In response, Hollywood blogger Jeffrey Wells wrote, "If I were a producer and had to make a casting decision, I might very well say to myself, 'Voight? Let him eat cake.'"
Now we talked to Mr. Wells a few days ago, and he denied that was a threat, but it sure sounded like one.
Joining us now from Los Angeles is Jon Voight.
You know, I told Mr. Wells this is exactly the same thing that happened in the '50s, when people who were left-leaning were called communist and blacklisted from the entertainment industry. And now what he wrote and what I've heard others say is that conservative actors run the risk of not being hired. Do you believe that?
JON VOIGHT, ACTOR: Well, let's hope not, Bill. Of course, I had many friends among those people who were blacklisted, and it was a very dark time for Hollywood. I mean, I don't think anybody wants to go back to that. Just, you know, all I can think of is that this fellow is a little out of line, and hopefully he will recover his senses.
O'REILLY: OK, but you know by putting yourself out there as a McCain supporter and criticizing Barack Obama that this isn't going to play very well in Hollywood. You're outnumbered about 100 to one out there.
VOIGHT: Well, I was doing an interview a couple of days ago, and somebody was just very surprised that they had a conservative in Hollywood.

So, you don't believe people can change? Now that she's a mother, I guarantee she has changed. And you have to realize she grew up in Hollywood...the fact she even made it out alive is astounding.
Jon Voight should host a show on fox. where he can interview conserative or right-leaning entertainers. Assumg Kelsey Grammar is still alive, he would be a good first guest. Then Stallone, Chuck Norris, Toby Keith, Bo Derek.
Stop. You’re killing me.
On Youtube I found a radio ad Reagan did for Truman and Hubert Humphrey in 1948. Amazing.
So what? So was I. When I was young and idealistic and thought I could change the world...but like the vast majority of starry eyed young mush heads, I grew up and became a conservative. A God fearing, God loving, flag waving patriot too!
VOIGHT: Well, I was doing an interview a couple of days ago, and somebody was just very surprised that they had a conservative in Hollywood.Had he not been in a recent hit movie ("National Treasure"), I'm guessing he'd have A) kept quiet about it and B) not had his comments quoted so widely. Nice job, Mister Voight!
More like 1,000 to one.
“I havent liked Jon Voight since he sold that lemon to George Costanza”.
LOL, just lost a mouth full of coffee. You owe me a new keyboard.
Some times people get smarter as they age.
McCarthy was too late. The important Pro Soviet members of the State Department were already washed out before he got started in 1950, including Alger Hiss and company.
So, you don't believe people can change? Now that she's a mother, I guarantee she has changed. And you have to realize she grew up in Hollywood...the fact she even made it out alive is astounding.
Angelina has shown signs of common sense that I would not have imagined possible 10 years ago. Prostitutes redeeemed themselves before Christ and received his public blessing. Maybe Angelina has the same possibilities?
Compare Ms. Jolie to Mackenzie Phillips, Tatum O'Neill and other children of famous Hollywood parents. Some of whom did not live to adulthood. Angelina does appear to be searching for purpose and trying to do good works. Let's pray that God gives her guidance that she will receive and pass on to others.
On Mark Levin, Voight said he would call himself conservative before he’d say he was a Republican.
Sounds like a good Freeper to me.
ROFLMAO!
...only from a FReeper...LOL

Having said that. I don't know where Voight stands on the agenda of the conservative movement. I want to hear him explain --- does he support conserving the original intent of the Founding Fathers and promote the Constitution and our Republic form of limited government? Does he oppose higher taxation, wealth redistribution, a larger welfare bureaucracy, social engineering, abortion on demand and downsizing our military?
Lets see what he has to say about those issues.
Frankly, I don't believe calling one self a conservative, automatically makes you a conservative. Especially for someone who has been a part of ultra-liberal Hollywood for so many many years.
He has repented of it..
Senator Joe McCarthy deserves much better than he's ever going to get from history. He recognized the threat and tried to do something about it. He got it on the radar. But in cold hard fact, Senator McCarthy's net contribution to the cause of anti-communism is mixed. The Commies played him like a violin. He outed a few Communists, but they were low-level "give'em-ups;" sacrificial pawns that the commies always kept around to distract commie-hunters.
The big game got away from Joe. The MSM was able to make it all about Joe, and not about what he was trying to do.
