Did you know that Idaho Senator Larry Craig is going to speak at the Republican convention? Okay, I'm just kidding but can you imagine the reaction from the media if that were the case? We would hear never ending stories about the "culture of corruption" inherent in the Republican party. Well, guess what? Former Alabama governor Don Siegelman who was convicted on bribery and mail fraud charges, is going to be a speaker at the Democratic convention in Denver according to this report from WHNT TV in Huntsville, Alabama. And if you want to know what the media reaction will be to this, we already have a sneak preview of biased reporting in the WHNT story announcing Siegelman's convention appearance (emphasis mine):

I will let Daddy know about this — they lived in Alabama during the scandal and he is absolutely outraged by the continuing existence of this crumb, as well as a staunch Republican, so this should make his day.

Heck, why don’t they just get William Jefferson, D-LA, to deliver a speech on the most ethical Congress in history?

These people are insane, they must think that the media still has more juice than it does, as if they can still cover their corruption. Wake up you libs, voters have the internet now...

As a former Alabamian, this guy is a bonafide “CROOK”, “SCOUNDRAL”, and NUT CASE.

Moreover, he has very “DEEP” pockets. One thing can be said about the Democrat Convention, “CROOKS ON PARADE” could be their motto.

BTW, with all due respect, Please, I beg all wonderful, articulate, smart Conservatives not to refer too the Democrat Party as the “Democratic” Party. There is not anything Democratic about that bunch of Marxist, Anti- America Freeloaders.

Greg Privett obviously is shilling for a Washington DC job at the DNC.

My jaw is still on the floor.

Maybe Don and Kwame can exchange addresses so they can keep in contact when they’re both eventually in the greybar hotel.

The DOJ, under Bush, has gone after Democrats seven times more than Republicans.

I can easily see that there are 7 times more Democrat crooks.

In the Siegelman case, the prosecutors -- then Alabama Attorney General Bill Pryor followed by U.S. Attorneys Alice Martin and Leura Canary -- along with Federal District Judge Mark Fuller have personal, political, or in some cases, business ties to the Bush administration.

In the Siegelman case, the jury--made up of 12 citizens of varied backgrounds--convicted him.

Funny how these pro-Seigelman articles never mention the “non existent warehouses” that started the whole thing.
