Ponzi Scheme

The act as described by Senator Conrad is below, I have added my comments and elucidations. The bottom line is simple: we are in an artificial energy crisis that is being caused almost exclusively by government regulations and laws that defy free market common sense and place a myth, global warming as anthropocentric, above the simple FACT that our economic prosperity relies on CHEAP ENERGY. It is the government’s artificial limits on energy production, which we now know is profit driven in its own way, that is the root cause of our ills.

As Ronald Reagan said so well, “the government is not the solution to our problems, the government IS the problem!” ————

Overview Knowing that the rising cost of energy is the number one issue facing Americans today, ten Senators from both sides of the aisle have come together to present a proposal to reduce gas prices, lessen our dependence on foreign oil, and strengthen our economy. The New Era legislation represents a true compromise, incorporating common sense ideas. ————————- It is a compromise, IN COMMON SENSE, it does not provide an “All of The Above” solution”, over 70% of Americans want drilling NOW, everywhere possible, right now!!! ————————-

The purpose of the legislation is to transition our economy – particularly the surface transportation sector – to run off alternative fuels other than gasoline and diesel. The legislation dedicates at least $20 billion in the next ten years to this important endeavor. ———————— “To Transition the economy” is doublespeak for “a planned economy” which is, by its very definition, centrally controlled (which leads to all kinds of unpleasant “isms”). Folks, this is CODE for FORCING you off the road. Remember, CHEAP ENERGY IS THE LIFEBLOOD OF OUR ECONOMY!! MORE on this will be coming out later on. ———————–

To ease gas prices in the interim, the New Era bill includes significant conservation provisions and targeted, responsible measures to increase our domestic production of traditional fuel sources. Any new domestically produced resources must stay in the United States. The bill will also establish a National Commission on Comprehensive Energy Policy to identify critical “inhibitors and prohibiters” to the goals established in the bill and to make recommendations to Congress on policies to overcome these obstacles as well as to address related matters such as carbon capture and storage, nuclear and renewable energy, and the need for upgrading and transitioning the national grid and other energy infrastructure. ———————– MORE CODE: “significant conservation” equals economic downturn and pullback because if we are using less energy we are having less economic activity. This gang of 10 is really seeking to FORCE is to use less and is promising only to rely on untried new technologies that are not yet at the standard of providing cheap energy!!! ———————- The New Era bill contains three main components: • An intensive effort to transition vehicles to non-petroleum based fuels; • a robust federal commitment to conservation and energy efficiency; and • targeted, responsible domestic production of energy resources. ———————- Read “intensive effort” as “intensive regulation and central planning.” The CODE WORD here is “targeted”, read that as “LIMITED” ———————-

Converting Cars and Trucks to Non-Oil Fuel Sources to Regain Energy Independence The New Era legislation funds a $20 billion “Apollo Project” like effort to support the goal of transitioning 85% of America’s new motor vehicles to non- petroleum-based fuels within 20 years. To accelerate this transition, the legislation includes: • $7.5 billion for R&D focused on the major technological barriers to alternative fuel vehicles, such as advanced batteries; • $7.5 billion to help U.S. automakers and parts makers re-tool and re-equip to become the world leader in making alternative fuel vehicles; • Consumer tax credits of up to $7,500 per vehicle to incentivize Americans to purchase advanced alternative fuel vehicles (those that run primarily on non-petroleum fuels) and up to $2,500 to retrofit existing vehicles with advanced alternative fuel engines. ———————- This will involve massive regulation and is, essentially, a “planned economy” just like the old Soviets: you can’t “decide” what the market needs/wants, you have to let the market decide, period!!! ———————-

Enhancing Conservation To ease gas prices and protect our environment during the transition, the proposal includes a significant federal commitment to promoting conservation and efficiency. These include: • Extending renewable energy, carbon mitigation and energy conservation and efficiency tax incentives, including the production tax credit, through 2012 to create greater certainty and spur greater investment; • New consumer tax credits of up to $2,500 to purchase highly fuel efficient vehicles, to help Americans reduce their annual gas costs and reduce oil imports; • Extending and expanding the $2,500 tax credit for hybrid electric vehicles; • $500 million for R&D into new materials and other innovations to improve vehicle fuel efficiency; • $2.5 billion in R,D&D on next generation biofuels and infrastructure; • Tax incentives for the installation of alternative fueling stations, pipelines and other infrastructure; • Expanding transmission capacity for power from renewable sources; • New dedicated funding for the weatherization assistance program. ———————————- Again, central planning of the economy, massive regulation, etc…. THE ROOT PROBLEM is that the government has artificially reduced the available supply of cheap energy, period. Don’t lose sight of this!!! ———————————-

Responsible, Targeted Domestic Energy Production To help meet our energy needs until our economy transitions to advanced alternative fuel vehicles, the New Era bill increases domestic energy production in environmentally responsible ways. The legislation: • Provides a CO2 sequestration credit for use in enhanced oil recovery to increase production from existing oil wells while reducing greenhouse gas emissions; • Opens additional acreage in the Gulf of Mexico for leasing (in consultation with the Defense Department to ensure that drilling is done in a manner consistent with national security) and allows Virginia, North and South Carolina and Georgia to opt in to leasing off their shores. Retains an environmental buffer zone extending 50 miles offshore where new oil production will not be allowed. Requires all new production to be used domestically. Creates a commission to make recommendations to Congress on future areas that should be considered for leasing. Provides for appropriate revenue sharing for states that allow leasing off their shores; • Provides grants and loan guarantees for the development of coal-to-liquid fuel plants with carbon capture capability. Plants must have lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions below those of the petroleum fuels they are replacing; • Supports nuclear energy by increasing staff at the NRC, providing workforce training, accelerating depreciation for nuclear plants, and supporting R&D on spent fuel recycling to reduce nuclear waste. ————————————— Too much of this is about the global warming myth, and yes it is a big fat myth, and not about the real issue: get government out of the WAY of energu production, do not allow our energy policy to be a slave to the global warming myth and to Nancy Pelosi and T. Boone Picken’s PONZI SCHEME!!! ——————————————-

Speculation The Group decided to focus on increasing supply and reducing demand and will await the mid-September report of the CFTC to consider this subject. —————————– This translates to “let’s kick the can down the road while Americans get raped at the gas pump!!! ————————————-

Offsets The $84 billion in investments in conservation and efficiency in the New Era bill will be fully offset with loophole closers and other revenues. Approximately $30 billion will come from new revenues from the oil and gas industry through such measures as modifying the Section 199 manufacturing deduction for oil and natural gas production and other appropriate measures to ensure that the federal government receives its fair share of revenue from Gulf of Mexico leases. Remaining offsets will be finalized in consultation with the Finance Committee after accounting for interaction effects with other pending legislation. —————————– Offsets, yummy, let’s tax the HELL out of energy producers, that will REALLY help: we’ll take $84 Billion in private industry investments, steal them, give them to the central planning committee, and fund the Nancy Pelosi and T. Boone Pickens Ponzi scheme. ——————————–

SO WHAT IS TO BE DONE?

1. Contact your congressman and senator, tell them “HELL NO ON THE ERA!!!”

2. Tell our supporters not to accept a compromise!

3. Remind the 5 Republicans who are in on this Ponzi scheme that we will not forgive them for betraying the American People!

4. Spread the word about this article and the #dontgo movement!!

Don't be fooled by these "Compromise" solutions that the Democrat Party establishement will be presenting. The GOP "All of the Above" bill is the only serious bill that addresses all of our short, intermedeate and long term needs.

Can read the GOP bill at the link.

A little more knowledge of how markets work would leave the American public much less vulnerable to schemes of all sorts that retard prosperity.

But the education system has deemed other subjects more vital to an educated mind.

Converting Cars and Trucks to Non-Oil Fuel Sources

This is the most important goal before us. The sooner our enemies' only use for their oil is to process it into KY Camel Lube, the sooner they'll cease to have the ability to pose a major threat to civilization.

Agreed. My home is powered by my own hydro plant, but my cars wont run on water. Aside from moving into town to be close to everything, and bussing when necessary, what are the options for citizens?

And the most important threat to that goal is the idea that government bureaucrats and politicians should, or even can, pick winners in the race to that goal.

Ethanol subsidies, wind subsidies, solar cell subsidies, etc, are all a futile effort by the government to pronounce their blessing on a specific technology, while other potentially better technologies (with less political pull) are pushed to the side.

Let's hope that some of those technologies - perhaps thin-film nanotech PV or algae-based biodiesel - are good enough to whip their subsidized competitors even though the playing field is far from level.

Nice dream. Unfortunately it just that a dream that is 30 years from realization.

First you have to invent the technology, then you have to perfect it and market it. Then you have to produce enough of it to make the cost per unit affordable to the average citizen. That the real problem. If you are wealthy enough, you can access the exotic energy sources for personal use. Average people cannot afford that tech and it is 20 to 30 years of development and production to change that fact.

Then you have to produce all the infrastructure to use and support the new technology. Then you have to use up and replace all the existing cars and infrastructure that uses the oil based technology.

It complete wishful thinking to think that process can simply be commanded now. The solution is to develop ALL our own energy sources. Oil will be the dominate energy source in this economy for the rest of our lives. Anyone thinking different knows nothing about either Economic nor Energy.

this section of the bill sounds like it was written by 10 drunk senators. What the Hell is a National Commission on Comprehensive Energy Policy? It sounds like something a marxist government would create!!

Converting Cars and Trucks to Non-Oil Fuel Sources to Regain Energy Independence

Non oil fuel sources? Will it run on Apple juice?? Sorry, stupid part of the bill!!

The bill is WRONG in many ways!!!
