At this moment there are more than 300 million people living in the United States. How many are here illegally is uncertain and the estimated number changes depending on the political or social persuasion of the numerator. While liberal or compassionate Americans like to denounce any objections to the presence of illegal aliens as racism or bigotry over just a few, indeed as little as 12 million, cooler heads place the number closer to double and maybe even triple that amount.
While those same high-minded theologians and social reformers also claim that the few illegal aliens are only here for much needed work and are family oriented and civic minded, nothing could be further from the truth. Many of the illegal aliens are members of criminal gangs, or rely on an income, not from their own work ethics, but from the work of American taxpayers. The number of illegal aliens receiving public assistance in the form of welfare, food stamps, and other government handouts is huge, and a drain on state coffers. Emergency rooms in local hospitals are swamped by illegal aliens using their services for running noses and other light ailments, and using fraudulent identification in order to avoid payment.
Many people have a variety of reasons to forgive or condemn the illegal alien presence. The compassionate urge humanitarian treatment, and claim mass deportation is unwarranted and impossible to achieve, while blocking any attempt at strong law enforcement. The concerned work tireless to change local laws, raise their voices of alarm above the oppositions roar, and warn others about an ever increasing flood of illegal aliens who rape, kill, steal, drive drunk, unlicensed and uninsured, use public funds they are not entitled to, and use stolen identification to deprive American citizens of employment, domiciles and government aid.
I have opinions about the illegal aliens derived from the several parts of my personal life:
As a Christian: Does it ever occur to the enablers who push the Bible, (a book they have seldom actually read) at Christians in an attempt to shame us into complacency, that the illegal aliens would not be in such dire straits if they had just stayed home and not entered the United States illegally?
As an American: No, we do not owe illegal aliens anything; a living, a job, free schooling for their illegal alien children, or pseudo 14th Amendment children. Nor are we to welcome with open arms people who deliberately break our sovereign laws in order to enter our country, and then wantonly flaunt their criminal activity in our faces.
As a veteran: I use to wonder why illegal aliens did not apply to serve in the American armed forces, thus proving their fond regard for our nation. I do not wonder any longer; I do not feel that a person who would have so little respect for our immigration laws would have the character required to serve honorably in our military.
As a former immigrant: As a child I was taught to love and respect Americans. The appreciation for the sacrifice of the American soldiers and sailors in the Pacific during World War II, was passed down to me by my parents and other adults in New Zealand, who had lived in fear of imminent invasion by the Japanese. My love and appreciation for the greatest country in the world has been a lifelong attitude and inspired me to serve in the United States military as a registered alien. I wore my uniform the day I proudly became an American citizen in 1975.
When I completed an application to enter the United States, there were several requirements that illegal aliens bypass in their unauthorized entry into our country. I had to pay fees, have a clean bill of health, receive inoculations, have a thorough criminal and background check, and prove that I would not become a public dependant. I signed documents affirming that I understood I was not entitled to public assistance and that if I committed a felony, I would be deported. When I applied to enter the United States, it was with the knowledge that immigration was a serious step and required scrupulous documentation.
However I entered the country in 1971: amnesty was not a household word that year.
That's simple. Illegal aliens are prohibited from joining the US military. Only Legal Permanent Reisidents [green card holders] can join.
Attrition thru enforcement works.
Yet both Obama and McCain support amnesty, voted against the Cronyn amendment, and have met with the likes of LaRaza. McCain's top foreign policy adviser, Randy Scheunemann, is a lobbyist for a foreign nation - albeit the friendly nation of Georgia. Still, he is promoting the interest of a foreign nation.
Build a wall, jail employers, and deport every last one of them.
BUMP
we should keep the ones who are employed, have no other offenses to their name, and truly want to be Americans

If the illegal aliens “truly wanted to become Americans” they would not be illegal aliens...
They would have applied to enter the US the right way..
Respect for the US and “true want” of belonging causes one to OBEY THE LAWS..
We need to let politicians know they should put America first. Amnesty is a sell-out of this country.

Sept 9-11...
DAMMIT! We’ve been saying for years to SECURE THE BORDERS! What do you think we would like done? Talk about brain-dead. Simple solutions: Try enforceing laws already on the books, build the border wall, read that again, WALL, w/security check points and small helo bases (QRF assembly areas) at strategic points. ARMED patrols with strict and effective ROE.
And pardon Compean and Ramos to strengthen morale and give them their lives back.
And let’s attend if we possibly can, bring others, and spread the word for Sept. 9-11, D.C. - by emails, letters, phone, word of mouth.
Annex Mexico. If we are going to feed, clothe, and educate half the population anyway, we might as well get some land out of it. And it will irritate China to no end. ;)
Such action would also have the side effect of pushing certain groups of Americans back into the productive labor force.
*No citizenship ever for those who have entered illegally through sham marriages. And no citizenship for "anchor babies."
True, children born on U.S. soil ought to require that their parents be legally present as U.S. citizens or nationals, or permanent residents, in order to receive automatic citizenship.
pardon Compean and Ramos to strengthen morale and give them their lives back.

Yes...
such a travesty...
a miscarriage of justice...
And meanwhile our government cries over law breaking illegal aliens..
And the Internation Court rings its collective hands in sorrow for an illegal alien who viciously raped and murdered 2 American children..
Thanks...
See you there
:)
You, most of all, understand this.
God bless your efforts.
Illegal aliens cause numerous damage to this country in addition to security - in areas of social services, environment, overpopulation, belief in the justice system, etc.
Many of us parents try to teach our children to respect the laws. The perks to illegal aliens sends the terrible message, especially to young people, that it is not only okay to break the law but you will also get rewarded.
Any talk of amnesty and perks is a slap in the face to the legal immigrants who followed our laws. Why should those who break laws get ahead in the line to stay in this country?
You got that right!
LLS
Seize every business and personal asset of every employer of illegal aliens, just as they do for drug dealers. Do the same for the executives of corporations that hire illegals, every manager or supervisor with hiring authority.
Take their factories, farms, hotels, motels, trucks, cars, boats, and bank accounts, and those of their wives, children, and grandchildren, then grind up their carcasses for dogfood, fertilizer, or bio-fuels.
That is essentially what the employers of illegals are doing to law-abiding, tax-paying citizens on a slow scale.
Obvious: I would immediately militarize the borders.
Simple, just start arresting and prosecuting employers who hire illegals. When a few hundred employers ranging from corporate CEO's down to farmers and owners of small businesses that hire illegals start frogwalking across our TV screens on their way to serve 5 -10 year sentences, the allure of cheap labor that has created the illegal immigration crisis will lose it's appeal to the rest of them. Without jobs the illegals will go home, but as long as our laws against hiring illegals are nothing but impotent ink on paper the illegal invasion won't be stopped by a fence no matter how high we build it.
But at the innermost hard core of the problem is the FACT that Republicans in Congress and the White House don't want to stop the invasion because employers from roadside mom and pop fruit stands to farmers and building contractors to giant corporations don't want it stopped. OTOH, the Democrats at every level don't want it stopped because they know that when, not if, the illegals are granted first amnesty and then citizenship, 90% of them will become Democrat voters, thus giving the Democrats a perpetual majority in the voter base.
We average Americans who hate seeing our nation, our culture, and our language turned into a giant, squalid labor camp filled with foreign criminals (people who break immigration laws ARE criminals) who have no interest in assimilating into the American melting pot have practically no voice in the issue since neither party will do anything about a real solution to the problem except mouth empty promises they know they won't keep. We the people could change that if we were serious enough to forget party loyalty long enough to demand that politicians from both sides of the aisle either take the necessary steps to stop the invasion or be put out of office. But obviously the vast majority of us aren't that serious.
