Hundreds packed a South Side church Sunday to hear Minister Louis Farrakhan address what he called a nationwide educational system that is in decline.
The speech, titled "Educational Challenge: A New Paradigm for the 21st Century," culminated a three-day conference in which educators, community activists and religious leaders from across the country met here to discuss solutions to what they called a plighted education system.
Farrakhan, joined onstage by the Rev. Michael Pfleger, attributed the qualms of America's education system to the country's history of elitism, minority children's disassociation with curriculums and the absence of religion in classrooms.
"With a system of education that puts up the elite, good education was never designed for the masses," Farrakhan said. In fact, he said it was rooted in "white supremacy."
"This is why we're having all these problems in education, because the idea at the root of it represents a finite idea that has to end in order for something new and better to come in," he added.
Farrakhan urged parents and educators to challenge the curriculums of public schools to make them more relatable to minority children.
"When the children can't see themselves in the education, they're not interested," Farrakhan said. "Teach them who they are."
However, the minister rebuffed the idea that education was the solution to society's problems.
"There are people coming out of college with degrees that say we have achieved what this world has to offer," he said. ". . . [We are seeing] the collapse of the economy -- but look at all the people with a doctorate in economics."
Farrakhan condemned America for implementing an "extreme separation of church and state" in taking God out of schools, saying that a new educational paradigm is one rooted in faith.
"How in the world can you achieve what you want when the headmaster has been disrespected?" he asked.
Reporters were not allowed into the presentation site but could listen to the speech on the Web or purchase Farrakhan's presentation.
Farrakhan referenced Barack Obama's campaign platform of "change," but steered clear of any forthright statements endorsing him.
Obama dismissed statements made by the minister in February, where he celebrated Obama's impending candidacy.
"The world is looking for change, so the brother has struck the right chord," Farrakhan said.

Words escape me.
Isn’t Farrakhan a black Muslim? That’s already being taught in schools, or might as well be.
I don’t want to encourage Farrakhan but doesn’t he know about the ACLU supporting Barack Obama?
I’m shocked, white people are responsible for black kids not doing well in school!!! Hey, guess what, I help kids read in first grade and the reason some kids don’t do well in school is the parents don’t work with them at home. Money, black “education”, change in our history isn’t gonna help. Its the parents, Stupid.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whitey’s fault. #19
When I was a child way back when, I made sure that I studied books I couldn’t read. I learned my numbers and letters before 1st grade and wanted my parents to be proud of me. That drive went a long way.
Much better but you forgot to take into your equation the height of the statue of liberty, and the depth of the largest crater on the moon. All must be considered.
Louis Farrakhan, at the annual Saviours' Day celebration in Chicago, Feb. 25, 2008: "This young man is the hope of the entire world that America will change and be made better"..."If you look at Barack Obama's audiences and look at the effect of his words, those people are being transformed."

Malik Zulu Shabazz, chairman of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense (NBPP):
"We are happy today to be standing side by side with the Nation of Islam. We believe, like the Nation of Islam and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad believe, in a nation of our own. We believe in a Black first philosophy and a Black Liberation Theology. We dont worry about the criticism. We love all of those who labored in the Panther Party from the 60s. Many are with us today."

From the article: REVOLUTIONARY HEROES
excerpt...
"On May 1st, May Day [1969], the day of the gigantic Free Huey rally, two of Alioto's top executioners vamped on the brothers from the Brown Community who were attending to their own affairs. These brothers, who are endowed with the revolutionary spirit of the Black Panther Party defended themselves from the racist pig gestapo.
Pig Joseph Brodnik received his just reward with a big hole in the chest. Pig Paul McGoran got his in the mouth which was not quite enough to off him.
The revolutionary brothers escaped the huge swarm of pigs with dogs, mace, tanks and helicopters, proving once again that "the spirit of the people is greater than the man's technology."
To these brothers the revolutionary people of racist America want to say, by your revolutionary deed you are heroes, and that you are always welcome to our camp."

If we had a ministry of art and culture in every city we'd create this movement [in the U.S.]."

Louie says it’s all our fault.
He says white people were put here by aliens to afflict the black man. (I’m not making this up)
I say - fine Louie - you are correct - now what are you gonna do about it - put up or shut up.
“Words escape me.”
Unfortunately, there is some truth to his statement. First of all, it is Whitey that is shoving down these new-age curricula down the throats of minorities (while Whitey, in general, is either able to educate their kids on their own, or buy out of the trash). Next, it's Whitey that (in general) opposes school vouchers, so as not to upset their “wonderful” suburban schools. Finally, it's Whitey that gave this country it's welfare system that destroyed the black family.
Now certainly blacks are not totally blameless, particularly given the people they continue to vote for, but Whitey has certainly done a lot to help blacks stay where they are.
[please note, by Whitey, I'm referring to while liberals, not conservatives...but to blacks, we're pretty much one in the same.]
The “reparations” already paid to most blacks in America through a maze of “social programs” has yielded a dangerously alien and hostile black leach on the body of society.
In Vietnam - we learned the technique of getting a leach to “let loose” was to push the sucker end sideways until it releases and then flick them aside.
Where the hell do you flick the accumulation of leaches we've accumulated?
Oh yeah, really designed that way when I was left back a grade my senior year of high school.
Plus I’m white
I also believe social promotion was one of the worst things foisted on public schools.
OPE=POE..
So blacks are fighting extraterrestrial colonialism?
And so the Marxist/Islamofascist assault begins.
