Mr. Lieberman, the Connecticut Independent who was the Democratic vice presidential nominee in 2000, made the remark as he used his introduction of Mr. McCain to deliver a harsh assessment of Mr. Obama without mentioning his name. In my opinion, the choice could not be more clear: between one candidate, John McCain, whos had experience, been tested in war and tried in peace, another candidate who has not, Mr. Lieberman said. Between one candidate, John McCain, who has always put the country first, worked across party lines to get things done, and one candidate who has not. Between one candidate whos a talker, and the other candidate whos the leader America needs as our next candidate.
Obama has never and WILL NEVER put the United States first.
End of story.
Period.
.
I remember how Lieberman put the country first when he ran with Gore.
Agreed
The only thing I liked about Joe was that he folded like a wet taco while debating Vice President Cheney . He also had the good manners not to try and bring the opponents children into the mess .
Proof that Barack is the Obamessiah:
Obama preached to the multitude by the side of the lake.
Obama created new states from out of the void.
Obama turned whine into Kool-Aid® for his followers.
Obama came to us carried upon a donkey.
Obama triumphed over the beast, the enemy of all men.
Obama was stoned and yet he has risen.
Obama’s flock has millions of sheep.
Obama will reign over us from a house with many rooms.
You must have no other candidates before Obama.
Obama will raise voters from the dead. Count on it.
OOH, Senator Joe is going to find out just how unwelcome he is around DemocRAT circles..... bad enough to stay off the Obambi bandwagon, but now they are going to throw you under the wheels, Joe!!
Lieberman has been on the right side of some issues. I just get tired of politicians trying to make out like they always put their nation first, so they can dis someone else for not having done so. Lieberman was just fine with Gore trying to steal the election. And some of his own comments during that period were terrible.
I do agree with your comment about not taking Cheney to task regarding his daughter.
These days, only the liberals have a political party.
A republican lives in a porous tent that’s too big for its own good.
Staunch pro-life people live with moderates on abortion; foreign policy neo-cons commingle with folks more cautious in foreign endeavors. Miserly stewards of the taxpayers’ largess deal daily with profligate spenders and pork gourmands.
All this reflects the polarizing impact of today’s democrat party. It is a socialist party and it relishes that fact rather than denies it. It’s also a minority party doomed to lose as its leftward march continues.
We all know that comparisons of Obama to JFK are absurd. Comparisons of Obama to LBJ, Humphrey, Scoop Jackson, Richard Russell, even Scranton, the world’s first RINO, are absurd.
My view of the hard lefties is that they comprise about 25 to 35 % of the electorate. Their tent is cozy.
These days, to say (or vote like) you are “republican” only means you are not a liberal. In practice, it’s like European consensus politics.
We already have more than two parties as there are several distinct parties just within the republican party.
Happily, racial and sexual fissures are obvious on the far left, too.
I think we are witnessing the decline of two-party exclusivity. It couldn’t last forever.
And, I think that’s good.
We are a sufficiently stable and intelligent electorate and society to know when to compromise politically to achieve our version of what’s right.
Obviously, Lieberman is angling for the vice president slot, and he would probably help greatly in ensuring a McCain victory.
But it will also kill the Republican Party of President Reagan, the party most of embrace.
Who are the republicans going to nominate in 2012? (I think most of us think McCain is a one-term president, and that’s part of his appeal.)
If the republicans had any cohesiveness, or lived in a less spacious tent, they would choose a VP who can compete for the presidency as a republican.
I think that excludes Lieberman.
He might be a good SOS, however.
It seems he has repented of it..
Hey, I am no Lieberman fan, but he "gets it" when it comes to National Security and leadership during the dark times we live in.
The Black Racist's Administration would cause irreparable damage to our Republic; he would completely dismantle America's DOD and other sources of security after his taxes destroy our economic prosperity.
Obama is not one of us.
