Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi painted the outcome of this November's election in irrational, apocalyptic terms during a book tour appearance in Los Angeles last night.
Pelosi was interviewed by Rabbi Robert Wexler of the American School of Judaism in West Los Angeles before a sometimes hostile crowd of leftist agitators who harangued her for her failure to end the war in Iraq and impeach President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
Speaking about the upcoming presidential election between leading candidates Republican John McCain and Democratic Barack Obama, Pelosi let loose with what is may well become her 'Dean scream' moment if camera were present to record it, according to a report by the liberal publication The Public Record:
“Whether it’s the deficit or the challenges to the constitution we have to dig our way out, this election is like death for life on this planet as we know it today."
Pelosi has been under enormous pressure from the right and left during her year-and-a-half tenure as the first woman Speaker of the House. Under her leadership, Congress' approval rating has plummeted to a humiliating nine percent as the budget deficit has exploded, the cost of energy skyrocketed and the housing market imploded. Pelosi was able to minimize the reputation of a do-nothing Congress by implementing the first increase in the minimum wage since the mid- 1990s.
Personally, her feminist book, Know Your Power, has been a miserable failure in bookstores, with only a few thousand copies sold despite a publicity blitz worthy of the most powerful woman in America.
Pelosi has been mocked for her recent interview with The Politico where she adamently described her goal as Speaker: "“I’m trying to save the planet; I’m trying to save the planet.”
Pelosi's delusions of grandeur and hysterical ravings about apocalyptic visions could very well cost her the Speakership as Americans look for sane leadership in the upcoming election.
"Death for Life." Woo hoo! That's a winning campaign slogan.
I believe her harridaness votes for every gun control bill that comes down the pike. So, I'm telling her that she does not support the Constitution of the United States.
I'd like to see the clause in the Constitution that gives Congress the power or duty to "Save the Planet".
Harman was a far more sane choice. Maybe that was her problem. It seems she has been tossed aside, never to be seen or heard from again. Haven’t seen her on any of the talking head shows since Queen Bee took over.
Sounds like a new prison gang.
She will not be the speaker of the house in 2008.
I mean 2009.

It ain’t gonna kill the planet, but my brain cells are being decimated from the stupidity and I don’t have that many to spare!
Maybe she knows the Dems are going to get tanked in this election, and this statement means that the leftist agenda is going to "die," too.
Dear Nancy:
This planet is suffering most of all with a burst of population, which is rapidly leading to over-population, IMO.
Since you and your “husband” created 5 kids from the 2 of you, you have a 250% increase right there in your own household.
All of them are growing up or are grown and now producing more kids.
They are ALL consumers—even you, dear heart, especially when you demand your own airplane as “Speaker of the House”.
So the reality of your constant double standard- you versus the rest of us is really getting tiring.
We are NOT that stupid. Especially those of us over 35, who got some real education. We didn’t get the tripe shoved down our throats like today’s “skools” provide.
So, Nancy The Wonderful, please spare us any more of your BS and get out of the way...
