We spent a week in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. It was okay, a nice change of pace, but I don't think we'll be going back.
I got to walk from the room to the pool to the sea and back. Jumped off a boat way offshore ... into five feet of water (it's called the "natural pool"), took a scuba lesson in the pool (did well), rode a Segway for a few feet (never seen one before ... there were bunches down there).
The bananas were wonderful. The Pepsi was made with Azucar and not jarabe de maíz fructosa major. The rest of the food wasn't anything special, but it was plentiful.
Oh, yeah.... It was HOT and sticky.
Sounds like a very unusual vacation!
My hubby went down there with the Air Force, and when they
were out deep-sea fishing, some local bozo shot at them from shore.
Needless to say, he wasn’t interested in fishing after that!
Also forgot about his seasickness! LOL!
