Bill Richardson Self-Destructs on CNN
National Review ^ | August 11, 2008 | Jim Geraghty

Posted on 08/11/2008 2:50:25 PM PDT by Zakeet

Team Obama has GOT to get Bill Richardson away from cameras.

He's on CNN right now. He said that "a President Obama would have a good strong relationship with Russia, and this sort of thing wouldn't happen." (paraphrased; I'll check against the transcript when it's available.)

Richardson just said that McCain is "irrationally make threats" by urging the G8 to expel Russia, and "that's only gonna make matters worse."

Of course. Russia has killed thousands, turned tens of thousands into refugees, they're advancing on the capital, the airport's been bombed, the pipeline is endangered, and the Georgian navy vessels are sinking to the bottom of the Black Sea. But throwing Russia out of the G8 - that will be the true disaster.

He has once again called for going to the United Nations Security Council to get a ceasefire. Russia has a veto on the UNSC. Of course, if Russia wanted a ceasefire, they could just... cease firing. The Georgians are begging for a ceasefire.

“a President Obama would have a good strong relationship with Russia, and this sort of thing wouldn’t happen.”

To assure this would be the case, Obama would have to select Cindy Sheehan as his veep.

Funny you should mention. Let's see, the Silk Pony is history. Richardson's out. What other prominent commie is left?

No, with Obama in the wings it WOULD be national suicide. And yes, I can say this even with my not intending to vote for McCain. I live in Illinois. My absence in the Presidential contest will not be felt.

Ugh.....

He's such an embarrassment to us NM folks. You should have heard him on the nightly news last night. He sounded like the biggest idiot around. Of course, that means he would fit right in with Obama.

At this point in time that may be enough for Obama’s team. He can really pull the Hispanic voters in and they can claim he has foreign policy experience. Yes, he didn’t do anything while he was in the Cabinet, but he can lay claim to the position.

Someone should tell Obama:

That “oral sex”, I mean “diplomacy”

won’t work when the other party

wants “inter-course”, I mean “invasion”.

You can’t reason with a rabid dog! He should just go out and play and leave the world to the Adults.

Putin would probably slap him around and send him home.

Dontcha just love that ratty beard Richardson has been sporting.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a nasty beard.

Vladimir Putin just got McCain elected. Does anyone want to vote for Obama in a dangerous world

Yep, Pooty-poot just sealed the deal for McCain. And rational people don't want BHO as their leader in any world, but definitely not in one where Russia is invading neighboring countries.

ABC News contributer Torie Clarke

I didn't know that Torie landed at ABC. Remember her as Rumsfeld's first Defense Department Press Secretary? She and Rumny were a great team!

I'm really old. He reminds me of Sergeant Garcia on the Zorro TV series.

I agree with the posters who've said this could be a blessing in disguise for the GOP this year. It's going to shine the light on Obama's inexperience and naivety like nothing else.

All the more so because of our energy vulnerability, courtesy of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Obama, etc. and their suicidal policies. You see, THIS war (in Georgia) IS a war about oil. Russia is consolidating its position in control of a major oil-producing and shipment area, and there's not much that we can do. Even if Pelosi & Co. get out of the way immediately, it'll still take us a few years to get production ramped up. I hope that McCain makes a HUGE deal about the connection between high energy prices, naked aggression overseas and Obama's inexperience.
