Russia's Invasion Same as Hitler's

On Oct. 3, 1938, Adolf Hitler's armies marched into Sudetenland, a part of Czechoslovakia. Germany said it was responding to separatist demands from the large German population that lived there and that she was merely honoring their desire for reunion with Germany.

Hitler's tanks took over a vital part of an independent country that had largely rejected his overtures and allied itself with the West. Neither Britain nor France nor the United States did a thing to stop him.

On Aug. 7, 2008, Vladimir Putin's armies marched into South Ossetia, a part of Georgia. Russia said it was responding to separatist demands from the large Russian population that lived there and that she was merely honoring their desire for reunion with Russia.

Putin's tanks took over a vital part of an independent country that had largely rejected his overtures and allied itself with the West. Neither Britain nor France nor the United States did a thing to stop him.

Encouraged by his occupation of Sudetenland, Hitler continued his designs on Czechoslovakia itself and invaded the rest of the nation a few months later.

Will history continue to repeat itself?

I only provide the information. You’re welcome to think I’m the lousy Conservative if you wish.

Dead wrong. The dopes and traitors who run this country have mortgaged our future to China. It is wishful thinking of an extreme sort to think that China merely wants "prosperity." They do understand free trade enough to use it as a weapon to subvert and destroy us. And we are going to learn the hard way that cornering access to resources remains the name of the game in world-power politics, as it has been for centuries. We may soon be unable to buy energy and other minerals at any affordable price, because the Chinese and Russians and their friends will control access. Our "free-market" utopian fantasies will be shattered.

I'm really getting fed up with the wishful thinking here on FR. Lots of people told us that Russia was a joke, its military a rusting hulk. Who on their borders is willing or able to stop them from reassembling their empire?

The point is that we have to find a way to keep incompetent lightweights from becoming President! No one should be able to come out of nowhere like Obama, Carter, Clinton, Huckleberry, or even Bush and jump into the White House. Look at the quality of past Presidents. Many of them had been generals in wartime. All our Founding Fathers had years of experience in foreign relations and other important offices.

What exactly did he accomplish as Gov. of Texas? What knowledge or experience did he have which qualified him to be C in C? He and most of the govt., including the intelligence services, were caught by surprise by 9/11. Credit for the response belongs entirely to our heroic military, not to some dope who wanted to spend his administration ramming through a new entitlement program, who was sitting in an elementary classroom reading to kids when the terrorists struck. The man is a lightweight who looks good only by contrast with his atrociously bad opponents.

Actually, the U.S. is the one which can’t fund itself. We are the world’s largest debtor nation, and who holds much of that debt? Countries which have a long-term interest in our downfall, like China.

“I guess I’ll have to research the quotes now, but I could swear I remember him taking hit on the GOP side for talking about the need for more troops. “

He did, and you’ll find the quote you’re looking for here.

McCain was highly critical of Rumsfeld’s plan and agreed with General Shinseki that some 300,000 troops were needed for the Iraq invasion.

“Tblisi is less than 400 miles from Mosul.”

And pulling troops from Mosul would have what effect on the situation there?

Which has absolutely no relevance to his preparation to be Commander in Chief and deal with the likes of Putin and the ChiComs--except maybe that it shows he was mildly conservative on some issues, and might be expected to be mildly conservative on some others, like foreign policy.
