Cantor Ping.
McCain must choose someone with governing experience.
Cantor would certainly take most of the sting out of voting “for” McCain.
(Think about it: Do you even know anyone voting FOR McCain? I know scores of people voting AGAINST Obama, they’ll pull the McCain lever alright, but they aren’t voting FOR McCain.)
Probably can’t find an older one
Great pick, especially when one considers the other folks McCain is vetting.
William Miller Part II. Arizona Senator, Unknown Congressman, worked out so well for us in ‘64. Not to mention McCain doesn’t need to worry about pulling down Virginia, he can survive without it, he needs to pick off Ohio, Michigan, and/or Pennsylvania. What the hell does Cantor do that Portman doesn’t do better? Most crucially, we need him in the House.
Obama/Bayh = Bye Obama!
Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are!
This headline doesn't rule out anybody but Bob Dole, so far as I can tell. Maybe it is a hint he's looking to Fred Thompson!
The left is doing anything and everything they can to pick our Veep nominee, as they did our POTUS nominee.
The question is, will we fall in line with it, like we did with McManiac?

Sorry. This would be a bad choice for McCain. And "virtual" unknown is putting the most positive possible face on it. He *is* unknown.
hey John-court the young, and HOT running mate-Sarah Palin
I awoke this morning to hear on my local news that the McCains had dinner and stayed overnight w/the Ridges @ their Erie home. I hope it was to discuss northern PA wines, or how about dem Stillerz...but I would guess that I am wrong.
Just so it isn’t the same kind of courting That Silky has engaged in.
Really now! Anyone McCain chooses will be younger.
The reach is far for the well when one is dying of thirst. We need a conservative, we want a conservative, and we have found one.
Two generations ?
Huh ?
That would make McCain at least 85.
There are many fourty-five year olds that have a parent as old as McCain.
McCain's last chance to get any enthusiasm from the base is if he picks a relatively young conservative--someone under 55. That will give us hope for the future. Jindal is probably a little too young--they will Quayle him. Cantor sounds good, but he is too unknown. The MN governor is too liberal for the base.
The pickings are slim, and many of the people I like, such as DeMint, have had issues with McCain.
One possibility: The MO governor is good, and would help in Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. Pence from Indiana would be ok, but, like Cantor, a little bit of an unknown. Still pissed at him about the immigration compromise he tried to broker.
How about thinking outside the box? Laura Ingraham. THAT would be a winner, in multiple ways.
Can you say Trifecta VeeP+?
